Even though the best of star trek is submarine warfare and a slow plot. the best games are space battles and tactical stuff. Have you tried Star trek encounters for the ps2, it is very similar to this game.

Setting wise I'd like to see a continuation past TNG/Voyager, the cocktease of getting the Enterprise-E, a great looking and well armed ship to...get a couple of movies to then forget about it...

Games wise how about Starfleet Command style progression/exploration with Bridge Commander gameplay? Not the dumbed down whilst still being unintuitive (how the hell do you manage that?) STO

Someone needs to explain to the game developers (in very small words, apparently) that the thrusters are behind the saucer. NOT in the nacelles. Not to mention that thrust makes you go *forward*. Thrusting forward to go backwards doesn't make much sense.

Reminds me of a game that was called Subspace when it was a commercial product about 10 or more years ago and now lives on as Continuum.

Lots of people logged-on flying ships seen from an overhead view and grouped into teams playing, basically, capture the flag. Lots of fun due to the cooperative nature and very large numbers of players in a single game like well over 100 at a time.

@calsonick That's why star wars story sucked. I just fucking hated the characters on the pre-trilogy. I fucking love star trek characters, and I appreciated how it allowed more suspense for those low budget space battles. You actually felt like you were in there and single shot away from death. Eventually they did get really elaborate space battles and it was way more entertaining knowing it mattered. Its even more moving killing borg than clones, borg had more individuality.
