Any warnings on using this while pregnant?? I am in the 2d trimester so there aren't any big restrictions other than the dangerous/obvious.. I don't see how it would but I would like to know! :]

I saw other videos where the Monistat is diluted with a light hair cream. I'm actually trying it now and I mix it with Organic Root Stimulator's "Hair Fertilizer" which I purchased at CVS Pharmacy. It doesn't make the hair greasy nor does it have that heavy build up.
don't know how i got here from abg series video buuut why don't you just take a vitamin like biotin? and use head 'n shoulders, they have less side effects. not to mention that you're hair naturally goes through growth/shed/dormant stages to begin with.

@lookatdadamage94 HEY! I didnt notice any increased shedding at the time...but my hair was SUPER thick and long so it would have gone unnoticed. Castor Oil is great by itself for thickness and good for growth. I would usually mix all my faves together: MN, sulfur powder, caffeine powder, castor oil. I am now using MegaTek mixed with sulfur which causes major shedding but also MAJOR growth. I did a garlic trtmt which stopped shedding but I SMELLED for wks! So I need an alt. trmt for the shedding.

yeah I don't think its wise to try this if it hasn't been tested or made for your scalp! There's a reason why certain products are made for certain areas of your body. I actually asked the doctor and a pharmacist about it and both said that while they don't know if it would actually work, it doesn't have any bad side effects. In fact, they said that the same stuff is in quite a few shampoo's that are MADE for people to use on their hair. SO..... Dandruff, to my knowledge, is similar to psoriasis, in that it's extra skin cells your body made too fast. I think the reason there is benefit from this is because of the nitrate portion of this. Nitrate is found in meds for heart problems and ED. It works by increasing oxygen to specific areas. Probably brings oxygen to the scalp in this case.

A quick way to save a couple of bucks go to the dollar store and get their brand - it was about 2-3 dollars I am going to try full strength and will post my results in a couple of weeks. Monistat is for vaginal yeast infections, not for hairgrowth. If you have hair problems find a good dermatologist. Eat healthier and see what works for you on an individual basis. But I looked up Monistat, (a.k.a. Miconazole Nitrate) on drugs.com, and they said; "Intravaginal preparations are for intravaginal administration only and should NOT be used orally, topically on the skin, or near or in eyes."
And the fact that migranes were a side effect scared me anyway :( I want long hair really bad - but not bad enough for the risks... :(

Dandruff has been blamed on a multiplicity of causes, diet, stress or hygiene. However, the real cause of dandruff is actually a yeast-like fungus, Malassezia globosa, which lives on your scalp, feeding on skin oils.
Dandruff is shed skin; dandruff sufferers shed skin much more rapidly than other people. This happens because the fungus uses enzymes called lipases to metabolize the oils, which creates a by-product called oleic acid. The acid penetrates your skin and triggers skin cell shedding.

I used this to grow my hair from an inch to waist length in 3 years! I dilute it with castor oil and applied 3-4 times a week. I love it. I havent used it lately because it can be expensive in addition to what I have to buy for other things. I am looking in to find a natural alternative to this like neem oil, tea tree etc. Am formulating my own hair growth mix. I didn't know white people used this too though! Lol.

@lookatdadamage94 HEY! I didnt notice any increased shedding at the time...but my hair was SUPER thick and long so it would have gone unnoticed. Castor Oil is great by itself for thickness and good for growth. I would usually mix all my faves together: MN, sulfur powder, caffeine powder, castor oil. I am now using MegaTek mixed with sulfur which causes major shedding but also MAJOR growth. I did a garlic trtmt which stopped shedding but I SMELLED for wks! So I need an alt. trmt for the shedding.

yeah I don't think its wise to try this if it hasn't been tested or made for your scalp! There's a reason why certain products are made for certain areas of your body. IMO y'all are gonna end up with some serious side effects! I would rather buy real human hair clip in extensions, and let my natural hair grow out. Sorry ladies, but coochy creme is not the way to go!!!! LOL!!

I actually asked the doctor and a pharmacist about it and both said that while they don't know if it would actually work, it doesn't have any bad side effects. In fact, they said that the same stuff is in quite a few shampoo's that are MADE for people to use on their hair. SO..... I guess you can just buy the super expensive shampoo or stupid hair clips instead.

Sorry, but if its making your scalp feel like you've burnt it, or causing pain, then maybe its not supposed to be used on your head! Maybe the monistat has burnt a few brain cells!! And who said I use super expensive shampoo?? According to you, many shampoo's have the same ingredients but I don't know of any shampoo expensive or not, that cause SIDE EFFECTS like the coochy cream!

@youngersis14 save your money leave your hair alone and it will grow. my hair just grew 3in in less than 3 months and that is only my left over after combing brushing and being rough with my hair. if you leave your hair alone alone just shooping and keep your scalp clean it will grow rapidly. your scalp gets dandruff if our scalp is too dry.

virgin coconut oil is an anti fungal too!! That's what I use. I do a scalp treatment & through my whole head every sunday. Plus it's all natural which I like :) hmmmm I might try this though!!!

Dandruff, to my knowledge, is similar to psoriasis, in that it's extra skin cells your body made too fast. I think the reason there is benefit from this is because of the nitrate portion of this. Nitrate is found in meds for heart problems and ED. It works by increasing oxygen to specific areas. Probably brings oxygen to the scalp in this case.

quick questions been using for about a week just a little diluted. But, with what is left over in the bottle I have been putting in the fridge, is that correct - I have not seen amazing growth as of yet but I am hoping and hoping . Also, if you are worried about it making your hair greasy I have found that if you put in on wet hair it does not make it look greasy. thanks!

Hi I am going to try right now! A quick way to save a couple of bucks go to the dollar store and get their brand - it was about 2-3 dollars I am going to try full strength and will post my results in a couple of weeks. Hopefully no side effects LOL my hair was cut by someone who just enjoys cutting and cutting........

Monistat is for vaginal yeast infections, not for hairgrowth. If you have hair problems find a good dermatologist. Eat healthier and see what works for you on an individual basis. Oh my GOD if your hair is excessively shedding from using this that stuff is strong and could damage your hair follicles, Id rather have some hair than be bald.

But I looked up Monistat, (a.k.a. Miconazole Nitrate) on drugs.com, and they said; "Intravaginal preparations are for intravaginal administration only and should NOT be used orally, topically on the skin, or near or in eyes."
And the fact that migranes were a side effect scared me anyway :( I want long hair really bad - but not bad enough for the risks... :(
