Wow... good stuff, man ;)... really nice and amazing...
AND...: you let me decide to get this camera... i had the idea to get it once before, but now i think its a very good investigation and i'll buy it ^^ thx
How unfortunate that someone with such talent would make something so rotten. Don't you think there is enough nightmares in real life. Ani lo hameen yehudeem osoteem mashoo kakha. Ani mitsta'er bishvilkha.
man..no words...very good job...impresive..good action..good start...one thing i didn t like...the move from 08:14 it was sugesting pro ... that move is something epic....but better next time...last thing: i really enjoyed it!
I love the contrast. You start out the movie like a beautiful drama. The man is very calm, not only in his narration but in his actions. Then suddenly the day is greyish. And the trunk lifts open to a woman gagged and screaming. This was my favorite because it actually frightened me. I did not expect it at all. Great movie.
I am a young director just starting out. Please watch my first short action film on my channel . Only runs 1:30 seconds but took 4 days to film and 1 day to edit. Please subscribe and comment. Thanks
This filming is shaky, but it is done RIGHT. So much "shaky cam" stuff is done nowadays and it's way too zoomed in and makes you want to vomit, but this is done exceptionally well.
I am a about to shoot a film of this nature with a Panasonic DVX100B and I was planning on selling my old GL2 beforehand. But after seeing how the GL2 can put out footage that rivals the DVX i've decided to shoot with it as well and wait to sell it until the production is completed.
I really think that I'm far from having the look of both films... although 28 days later was shot on XL1 which is very similar to the GL2, they used the XL1 with prime lenses on a 10000$ adapter... not in my budget.
I will say that I did try to achieve a shaky kind of camera work done in "28 weeks later", I shot from quite far to get shallow DOF, used frame mode for deinterlaced look, and most importently used Magic bullet for color grading.
this looks really cool the thing i didn't get is why was he doing magic tricks i know that he was mental but i think it could would have gone in a different way but still pretty dame great!!
I hear you have the song from the movie 28 weeks later... I love that song.. one of the best thriller movie soundtracks i've heard. can't wait till movie movie's come out this summer
That was great. I just have a few questions. What did you do to obtain the film look? What settings in magic bullet? And what camera (GL2) settings did you use?
I used Magic bullet looks in 3 different presets for each part of the film. 1st was bronze I think, 2nd was berlin and last was sunset, all a bit modified. I shot everything on frame mode 16:9, I zoomed a lot to get a nice DOF.
Not sure. It depends if youre really short on cash it's great but if you can put in a bit more get the XH-A1. GL2 has many issues. not 16:9 native, no true progressive modes, lousy on low lights. it is usable but you will get less resolution and will have to put a lot of effort to make good looking films with it. and of course not to mention the need to buy 250$ beachtek DXA-6 for audio.
this is great man.. im buying a gl2 and this footage pretty much seals the deal.. i noticed the music from 28 days later and 28 weeks later.. whats the name of the song? could you send it to me?
All soundtrack is listed at the end of the film. Are you sure you want to get a GL2? save another grand and get yourself the XH-A1, much better!! or save another grand after that and get yourself the JVC-HD110... much much better...
tvviewer46 - I liked this kind of shooting with disregard of what's concidered "cutting edge film", I'm sorry it made you sea sick... I wanted it to make a point, I regret to hear it didn't come through.

when you use the microphone that comes with the gl2 is there any fizzyness in the background? if so do you need a windscreen?
DaFrohan 2 years ago
Mic on the GL2 is just for background noise capturing.
This film was shot with a boom and a blimp...

Did you use any seperate microphones?

Sennheiser MKH60 was used, great mic, however, a rental... I'm now a proud owner of Rode NTG-2, and I love it.
monologue recorded using a large diaphragm microphone at my studio.

frame mode is true progressive mode. 30fps not interlaced, right?
nitecobra 4 years ago
Frame mode is something invented by canon to immitate the behavior of 30fps progressive.
It is not real progressive, and when you capture such a material it comes as 60i.
