I have unconditional love, for my older brother, my older sister, and two of my best friends I have had for a decade. Those four people can do ANYTHING, rape, murder, steal, anything and I will still love them. Well... it's difficult to say it exists if you have that love for multiple people, because the only thing any of them could do to make me stop loving them, is to seriously hurt one of the other three.
I feel differently about this, my father abused me all throughout my childhood and I do hold him responsible for his actions by no longer having any relationship with him, however, I do still love him and I value the good times that we had together.

well.. You obviously do not have a kid :) Wait until you do.. That love IS stronger than anything else in this world, and no matter what your kid will ever do; lie, steel, kill, abuse, rape, etc. You will still love them, because that's when they need you the most, and that's what you asked for when making a baby; to be there for them and love and support them no matter what!

I'm not done. I don't have kids, and I still feel unconditional love for my five-year-old sister, and even if she treated me like crap, hated me, or became a horrible person that did things neither me nor Onision "condones," it would still be inconceivable for me to stop loving her. I just think of it as loving someone as much as you can now and for as long as you can. I'm a major romantic so theres no way i could say i dont believe in this kind of thing. but i do agree with the fact that you could stop loving someone if they did something like that to you....but i have seen times where no matter what happened they still loved each other. And i also want to use dogs as an example, they are usually loving to their masters but some continue loving them even after their abuse

As a strong christian (yeah, bite me) I believe that God is benelovent, and he is like....forever and allways will be...if that makes sense.
So I fell uncoditionally loved by my God, and that he will always love everyone, and this is something i feel blessed in knowing.

I consider myself loyal to people I really like. But I won't say it's unconditional. Like you said, I don't care for people who like me then abuse me. I dropped a so-called "friend" once because she constantly did things I considered to be abusive.

i think an ability to forgive is an integral part of love, and I honestly believe you have trust and forgiveness issues. therefore, i do not believe you would be able to unconditionally love someone even if you believed it to exist.

Yeah, because all parents in the world love their kids simply because they are biologically related. Come on. Even with legal restrictions for mistreating children there are parents that treat them like crap. There're no logical reasons for loving your kids; they're expensive to raise, are always complaining, and require lots of time that would otherwise be yours. However, since Onision strikes me as a sane human being (surprising right?) I bet he'd even give his life for one of his own.

I'm not done. I don't have kids, and I still feel unconditional love for my five-year-old sister, and even if she treated me like crap, hated me, or became a horrible person that did things neither me nor Onision "condones," it would still be inconceivable for me to stop loving her. I can't imagine what it would be like if I was her dad instead of her brother.

i believe in unconditional love, but i also believe in what xElectricVibe said, which was that this kind of love is VERY rare to find, for if someone did something to me or someone i love, (for example rape) i would find it very hard to ever hug, touch, kiss, or even think of that person in an attractive way ever again. As for a mothers love for her child, i do think that a mother has a deep, unconditional love for the being that has come out of them that they cant just leave alone or forget

It is hard to find unconditional love, very rare indeed I think unconditional love is when you find one person who loves you regardless of your little flaws if someone cheated on me, lied to me all the time, abused me physcially, mentally, or emotionally, then I dont think there love is as real as mine, but if someone had a pet peeve that drove me nuts I would love him regardless

The feeling in your gut when you see them and such which people confuse with LOVE... You see LOVE is a choice you make after you get to know someone you LUSTED for... You can LOVE someone even when you don't necessarily LIKE or FEEL those emotions linked to LOVE at the moment...

I just think of it as loving someone as much as you can now and for as long as you can. I'm a major romantic so theres no way i could say i dont believe in this kind of thing. but i do agree with the fact that you could stop loving someone if they did something like that to you....but i have seen times where no matter what happened they still loved each other. And i also want to use dogs as an example, they are usually loving to their masters but some continue loving them even after their abuse

the only person i love unconditionally is my mother. shes like my best friend. nothing she could do could make me hate her. its hypocritical, i know, since i dont feel like that about anyone else not even the rest of my family. she and i just have an amazing bond and i could never hate her. maybe my kids one day but i dont have them yet so i cant really comment on that issue just yet.

i have to disagree with a few comments about unconditonal love for children. not all children are loved by their parents. there are the abused, the abandoned, and of course the ones rejected because of their sexuality, or because their not what their parents wanted. like me. i am a total disappointment for my mother..so what does she do? not forgive me, but hate me. ive done nothing wrong yes she hates me. is this the unconditional love people talk about?

The meaning of Unconditional love is: regardless of what you do I love you anyway. We do not have that within Us to do that. That kind of love is given by God himself.
