  • They have no full AB on...

  • @TheCrackerJack79 they actually do, its just tough to see with the low quality of the video and the lighting. i was standing there taking the video, they were lit up.

  • That sound is like music to my ears!!

  • I always wanted to become pilot, since early childhood, but... I stayed at "but"

  • Afterburners at night, when working midshift is the shit, all you see is the 5-6ft flame and no plane.

  • what a fucking sound!

  • that's not full afterburner =D

  • When I was about 10 or 11 my Dad took me to RAF Finningley airshow.

The plane that made the most noise that day was an F-16.

It was turning tight circles over the airfield with its afterburner lit

What a noise it made for a plane with only 1 burner!!!

Amazing machine...........and yes the RAF should have bought some years ago.

Tornado F3 would have done long range air defence and the F-16 would have been the short range highly agile attack plane.

  • thats fucking awsome!! the most awsome machines on the planet

  • Thats not afterburner, this is FULL military power (no afterburner)

  • When I was in college (we were right beside the runway) these things would take off and car alarms would be going off in the parking lot!! COOL!!!

  • @korgboy98 Ah yes that brings back memories of Concorde taking off from Heathrow with four engines on full afterburn, everyone stopping in the street to watch her go by...And setting off all the car alarms.

The F-16 is my favourite jet fighter. The RAF should have ordered them...or F18s.

I was in a town near Petchabun when the odd Thai AF F-16 would belt overhead with the air condensing into a little cloud around the jet. I'm like WoW!!! Look at that!!! Not one of the Thais took any notice :(

  • cool

  • type:" Mirage 2000 Wonderful Video !! [French Airforce] "

  • at night the afterburners look so cool

  • ive seen this fighter squadron perform at 2 airshows at their home base (duluth angb, minnesota) and they KICK ASS

  • full afterburner my ass

  • @CODfiveWAW -- True, high thrust but definitely not with FULL afterburners on. Cool video but the title is misleading.

  • This is not a job!

  • these things are LOUD lol, saw one a few years back flying above me fairly low.

  • @thenewchance I live right next to an air base,,,loud is right, more like deafening, but SO COOL

  • in afterburn u can fly faster then a rocket

  • just fyi they arent taking off with full afterburner

  • i love the sounds of fighters

  • Comment removed

  • Dude, so awesome!!!

  • Yeah, those old F100s pack some punch!

  • i wish i was a pilot~~

  • the sound of the engines just get you pumped up. They're amazingly incredible! :D

  • @iflydelta1101 i saw one in the uk live, fucking insane !

  • @richythrale18 Was it on a Air show?

  • @Tangozulu7890 oh yeah duxford air show, had red arrows and spitfires

  • Never gets old watching jets like that take off with afterburners cranking!!!

  • God I love that sound.

  • prefiero el BOING, mata mas AMERICANOS Y DERRIBA RASCACIELOS

  • Turn and burn oh yeah>>>>>........

  • just imagine them coming to kick YOUR ass lol.

  • Love the running start. Nowhere to go if the guy in front of you dumps it!

  • @animal900

do you mean a rolling takeoff? never heard running start before :D

  • Fighter Pilots are the coolest thing since Super Nintendo. You guys are my hero (heros?)

  • Man, they're the coolest thing after sliced bread v.v. Haven't you realized what will happen if you had to take the effort in cutting loaf after loaf? Just think about it v.v

  • doesnt anyone notice the direction of the orange flag. I dont know about you, but when i take off i like wheels up into the wind, not a tail wind on take off. but i guess when you have that kinda power it doesnt matter, but id rather be safe than sorry and take off into the wind.

  • @yabutkappa dude...they're fucking F-16's...

  • @ZorackSwim420 no one said they were'nt, dumb ass

  • fag

  • Lol are you kidding me? The "orange flag" is a windsock and it is indicating that there is a slight tailwind component of around 5 knots which is really not that bad.

  • if they really had to do an emergency scramble, they wouldnt have time to roll down the runway and go towards the wind. and besides, they dont need to lol.

  • where is this

  • Um, no, these are all slow, low-power takeoffs with no afterburner. When an F16 uses afterburner, you'll know it. Grade of title: F. Grade of video: C. Stars: 3.

  • It's your eyes that fail. You don't see the afterburner firing? Agreed that they are not max-aug but none the less they have cracked burner into min-aug. They are configured air-to-ground. They've got to have burner to break ground.

  • You can clearly see the glow from the afterburners. The last one to take off was using the full burner, since it had a 10 foot flame coming from the back of the engine.

  • dude c'mon stop teasing with that awesome sound i mean that's orgasmic lol

  • they've got the best job in the world

  • yep they do :( and i couldn´t imagine to do another one " cry "

  • @phamtastic0 I would agree with that... but you need steel boll*rks.

  • @phamtastic0 hell yeah they do with the F-14 being retiered this is the best plane evar!

  • i love the f-16 falcon

  • im with ya man.

  • why are tehy taking off downwind????

  • perhaps just a quick gust in an odd direction? if not i dont know... looked like a pretty stiff breeze according to the sock

  • tru, and it was the same in each of the shots....

  • because they are some naughty little boys

  • lol

  • This is what I ususally see all the time at Homestead ARB.

  • is this in mn

  • I saw exactly the same for two days ago! insane sound!

  • Very nice I love it

  • Learn how to fly the F-16 SIM - it is as real as it gets at F R E E W E B S dottie commie slashie VIRTUALAVIATOR muhaha !!

  • TOTAL RESPECT!!!!

  • that was pretty sick!

  • afterburners are on for the 2nd one, and the 3rd, and the 4th one..

  • Years ago, our Scout troop toured a local ANG base. As luck had it, we were right at the end of a runway when a group of F16s took off.

They were like 200 foot above us with afterburners blowing! Felt the heat from them - we were scared poopless.

  • On military aircraft the extra thrust is also useful for combat situations. This is achieved by injecting additional fuel into the jet pipe downstream of (after) the turbine. The advantage of afterburning is significantly increased thrust; the disadvantage is its very high fuel consumption and inefficiency, though this is often regarded as acceptable for the short periods during which it is usually used.

  • An afterburner (or reheat) is an additional component added to some jet engines, primarily those on military supersonic aircraft. Its purpose is to provide a temporary increase in thrust, both for supersonic flight and for takeoff (as the high wing loading typical of supersonic aircraft designs means that take-off speed is very high).

  • what does afterburner mean?

  • /\ SEE ABOVE /\

  • what the hell is this...was that full after burners????

  • at first i didn't think this was full afterburner but on closer inspection it definitely is. pause it between 1:19-1:21 and you can see the tail.

    F-16= kick balls

  • best way is to check on google

  • Wow

    that was fast

they could push 5 fighters from the same line in less than a minute !!!!!

  • great video.

  • I hope your post is full of sarcasm, because otherwise..SHUT THE FUCK UP, YOU UNPATRIOTIC MAGGOT DICK SUCKER.

  • Why don't you stop driving, instead.

  • :F

They don't even run on the same kind of fuel cars do. shut up.

  • it's still gas. from crude oil....we don't need anymore airplanes for wars

  • Jet fuel is not refined from crude oil...

  • is it nitro methanol then?

  • it's kerosene...........now STFU you clearly know nothing about aircraft and aviation.........so stop making yourself look like a retard and stop writing about stuff you don't know shit about

  • and also...............kerosene is a cleaner fuel than petrol, diesel and gasoline so why don't you stop driving your car

  • I used to live on an Air Force base, to wake up to that sound causes you to shit yourself. (I was between 5-8 years old)

But during the day, my dad would take me to the end of the runway, the sound and the feeling in your chest, it is the best.

  • Aw.

But I'd love to live near a base and see that every day. I love planes :D

  • Im a fan of F-18 Hornet and SU-30MKM xD

  • i live in a training zone

    one time six fighting falcons

flew over it was pretty scaring

    the noise was incredible

    but i loved it

  • what I wouldn't give to fly in one of these babies ....

  • amazing airplanes

  • I think you might wanna learn to fly one first ;D might come in handy when it comes to landing the baby

  • landing?. skydiving is a trill to they say:)

  • is it just me, but dosn't the afterburner make like a 10 foot flame out the back when its on?... there are other vids on here with afterburners on and its all flame out the back...

  • yeah youre right

this video doesnt show full afterburner

  • its full burner but its more difficult to see during the day

  • f16 have played a decisive role in almost all recent wars of america. its a nice multi purpose aircraft. I am a fan of f16. thanks God india don't have this blessing yet.

  • The F-16 is a love hate plane... I love it... But i hate how when the plane turns on in a Haz All the fucking spiders drop down because of the heat... thus leading me to hate this plane... or maybe just spiders..

  • am a big fan of f 22 :)

  • I hook up my sournound sound to my PC and listen to the thunderous jets jack off. My floor is vibrating!

  • The F-16 is like "hey wait for me'.Love the F-16s true thunder birds and can take out anything.

  • never ending thunder......

  • turkey have lot of this

  • selam

  • para maria eugenia con mucho carino.

  • my brother jhon is one of the pilots.

    CHEVERE...

  • hey i see this air field all the time

  • Where did you film this? Do you have to be in the guards to go there?

  • :AWESOME:

  • Looked like a nice "downwind" takeoff to me...or was it me? Dyslexia is hard to fathom.

  • B-E-A-UTIFUL

  • Anyone know where this is? Northern USA, or in Norway or something?

  • Duluth, MN

  • READ THE DISCRIPTION

  • 小松っぽいな

  • what's that popular "afterburner"? whats so special about it?

  • The bright flame coming out the nozzle is the afterburner, also known as reheat. It's basically just fuel injected straight into the exhaust can and it gives a considerable thrust boost, at the cost of a higher fuel-consumption rate. Good for quickly accelerating but not to be used to often, as full afterburner will drain your fuel in about 10-15 minutes!

  • enlightening, thank u...!

  • YOU'VE BEEN LEARNED

  • Pretty much all small-frame aircraft in the Air Force take off with afterburner - all F-15s do, all our F-16s did.

All the time. Always. Good way to burn 10% of the fuel too :p

  • the fourth plane i saw the afterburner

  • You can see it on all four, but you have to pay attention to the engine.

  • Yes they are taking of at full burn. Depending on their fuel load (Seeing they have wing tanks) they need the extra boost to get airborn. I'm an F-16 crew chief and all our vipers are always at full burn when they take off. Look at the exhaust section, see the orange glow? Yeah thats the burner....

  • No after burner pal. I was lucky enough to have done my engineering internship at GE Aircraft Engines and worked in a test cell. I was afforded the opportunity to view a F110 (F14, F15, and F16 engine) during a test and stand about 8 ft. away from it while running 135% PLA (max after burner), obviously I was only viewing this through a 12" peep hole as the engine was enclosed in the test cell. But still... no more than 8 ft. separated us. Most amazing thing I've ever seen or heard bar none!!!

  • lame...... not even afterburner... i think my nuts are sleeping

  • I am more tired than a 1 legged man in an ass kicking contest!!!!!

  • It'd be nice if Duluth got new birds. I heard their F-16's are really out dated.

  • Thats right cag3171a! Ive seen f-16 when I was standing very close to the runway. It was the highest sound Ive heard in my life.

  • the 16 is loud, but the F-14 takes the prize for for excessive noise tho. Those were some damn fine birds. Was a real shame to see them retire. Used to love watching them test the engines up on the flight deck at night. Full burner on the 14 will make 15+ foot flame

  • errm.... That wasn't full after burner. If u see an f-16 full after burner you could see the flames as big as 3 meters.

  • That depends on the weather conditions and how bright it is outside, most fighter jets always take off at full afterburner to get maximum acceleration. If the burners weren't on you would not see any flame or even the orange glow in the tailpipe at all. The snow on the ground probably made it too light out to see the full thrust cone.

  • Although this video is cool, NOTHING compares to seeing it, hearing it, and feeling that raw fucking power! It does something to me. Gives me goose bumps.

  • FUCK YEA!!!!!!

  • Looks a little nippy there

  • It depends on what kind of plane it is and the loadout. You still have to have runway left incase of an abort so its best to get up to take off speed as quick as possible. With one engine, its better for it to crash on base then in a neighborhood. Were I was stationed at, there was a regular rode at the end of the runway about 10 feet from the military fence and houses.

  • fuck the F22..F16 rules

  • I remember these jets taking off at air shows and that afterburner is truly loud and powerful.

  • Wow! Great camerawork! Love that afterburner sound that you can feel deep inside your chest! Thanks for sharing this video with us!

  • Well....not one of em used the afterburner. Oh well.

  • you can't takeoff with the afterburner even on!

  • yes you can its just not permitted in a lot of places and the planes dont need it to take off

  • All of them used afterburner, they were heavily burdened and seemed to be taking of with the wind behind them.

  • On second view of the video, it looks like they did. Not full stage though. The wind would have no effect on them at all though.

  • Screw that I'd be hitting the snooze too many times so I could hear it over again

  • I think i will put the audio on cd and use it in my alarm clock.I am not kidding.

  • none of them used full afterburner. Do you know how it would look like if they did?

  • You are totaly right, I thought the same

  • Of course they used burners. u blind? :p

  • Wow! Great camerawork! Love that afterburner sound that you can feel deep inside your chest! Thanks for sharing this video with us!

  • awsome!!!!

  • So awesome!

  • I love this clip - Play it with full vol...!!

  • It's daylight, you won't see much. Check out F-16 afterburner run, the one at night. You should feel what it's like to do leak checks on the motor when it's tied down and in full AB!

  • was that really with afterburners I ecpected a little bit more fire from the back

  • we had one of these at our local airshow. i was on the pier and it went past at close range and at eye level, as it passed us it was dead silence, this lady said "oh thats a nice quiet one isnt it!" 3 seconds later she was holding her ears and screaming.

  • gotta love that sound

  • In my 12 years fixing 16s It was very rare to see a jet with bags(tanks) takeoff without using burner. Takeoffs are Mil(dry) or full AB depending on gross lbs also depends on weather conditions

  • Pretty much right, but the afterburner operates in stages or augmentations. There's no indicators telling the pilot what level of afterburner he/she is running at other than looking at the fuel flow gauge(s). If you wanna waste fuel for no reason, then yeah, go ahead and take-off with full AB, but these F-16s aren't taking off with full AB. Simple way to tell is by looking at the engine nozzle. Fully Open=Full AB, Closed=Full MIL Power, Somewhere In Between=Some AB.

  • congratulations you know something about jets

  • Até pode ser bonito aqui,

    mas ao vivo é ÚNICO=')

    F-16, é lindo, o barulho, a velocidade

    TUDO!

  • its awesome how they can take off in around 800 ft.

  • Its Duluth MN! Right by my house!

  • Those F-16's don't have full afterburner on you dick! It's about 50-55%.

  • not even..

You tuber's with random language like you disappoint me

  • So sad you're disappointed...sorry old chap ;)

  • Its full after turner on take off, I don't think I have ever heard of an fighter aircraft taking off on another thing other then FULL POWER!

  • You know nothing f16 dont take off with full afterburner they take of at about 50% power lol they have A shit load of power they dont need to waiste it all taking off

  • You can see they after burner flames coming out of the engine, they are using full power.

  • You cant see the flame on the first jet and its going to slow to be using afterburner

  • 50% power??? They are using 70% rpm when they are idle!

  • revs and power is completly different. i'de be worried if it was using 70% power standing still.

its beacuse there extremly beasty engines.

  • well if 50-55% is there max then that means its 100% you dick good to see you know maths.
