NINTENNDO 64 FAILS HARDCORE. WHY DONT U FAGS JUST BUY A PS3. N64 HAD MAYBE ONE OR TWO GOOD TITLES. REST WERE SHIT. U CANT NAME MORE THAN MAYBE 5 BEST. PS3 TOPS ALL FOREVER!!!
I love this game; people don't realize that foul mouthed Conker had his start on Diddy Kong Racing, as well as Banjo of Banjo-Kazooie fame. It's actually a very good racing game. Great video!
Luke here is a tip if you fling the frog to the little pond on the ledge you will see it become a rooster frog i believe you have to run over it you will get a different character just a tip nice vid!
I played it when I was already grown up and I loved it too. I think the kidlish graphic was a good stress relief because this game was hard. Very hard. More hard than Mario Kart 64 at least!
Luck is out of question in this game. You really need to learn skill and good use of bonuses.
I still have Diddy Kong Racing for my N64 since buying it a few days after its release. Really fun times. I also did manage to unlock T.T. eventually...
I think that this one has a lot of connections to other games. really wild how some of them have taken different twists especially Conker as mentioned in the comments. Yeah, I put up a vid of Battle and Chase a long time ago but it was pretty fun
I remember buying this game when it first came out on the N64. Fuck I hated it!!!! I was just so bad at it!!!! One of the hardest games I ever played!!! Or I just really sucked!
Rare were the dons about 12 years ago. Everything they did was original, polished and innovative. Even though this took a lot of inspiration from mario kart 64, it was even more refined and it's a superb game in its own right.
It's a shame Microsoft took over, there could have been some amazing titles for the Wii from Rare.
That's right. Conker started life as a character in DKR, as did Banjo. They both spawned into their own games. Rare went the complete opposite way with Conker's Bad Fur Day and gave the N64 a dose of British badass attitude. Banjo-Kazooie was an awesome game. DKR is a great game on N64.
Rare just do not make games like they used to. I've enjoyed Rare games since the ZX Spectrum and NES, but their XBOX games aren't as close to the quality and excellence as their Nintendo stuff. Shame really.
And so continues the search for the lost Conker 64 game, before they decided that the cutesy platformer they were making would be redundant in the market, and instead dropped a bunch of profanity on top and kicked it in a completely different direction.
I wouldn't mind a Bad Fur Day sequel, but I'm sure it wouldn't turn out as good as I hope it would. Damnit, Microsoft.
I'm not quite sure but I think that cutesy platformer turned out to be Banjo-Kazooie. It would've been nice for someone to have least leaked something about it, but we can only wonder. ^^;
You're right. I researched it, and it never saw the light of day other than in beta video releases. Banjo-Kazooie was released after that and Bad Fur Day was one of the latter games released for the N64.
What the N64 had was a lot of 'kiddy' games as the hardcore games were either poor ports (like RE2) or were on the PS1. An unfair label really as it had some of the best games in the fifth-gen era which were hardly kiddy (OoT anyone?). As soon as Bad Fur Day surfaced, the N64 had some attitude along with its excellent library of games. It was very well received by people too.
The userbase will side with the PS1, but the N64 was, IMO at least, the fifth-gen system of the era.
I hired this game all the time back in 1998, it was awesome, but I'm far better at Mario Kart 64 and actually prefer Mario Kart. I'd like to see this one on the virtual console.
I loved Nintendo racing games and this was no exception, back in the day playing this with 4 friends, what a blast and DAMN I got kick ass good at this, sooo much fun. Actually a few great N64 Race games for sure!

@greeneyes97402 Yeah, because the PS3 and N64 were released at the same time, so comparing them makes sense.
Stop trolling. I have many fond memories of my N64 and all it's great games.

Why do japanese games contain so much english text? I heard that japan has the lowest percentage of english speakers in the world.

does this require the expantion pak ?
DarkKirby1234 2 years ago
@DarkKirby1234 No it doesn't it uses the Jumper Pak just fine.
However I think you must be mistaken for Donkey Kong 64 Which does require the Expantion Pak.

I hope this will be in VC, I think it may have a chance mainly due to the title/name of the game.
I mean If Nintendo owns the Name, Diddy and the Kremling character then technically both Nintendo and Microsoft own the game!
But even if Rare Allow's at least DK64 and this game to release to VC, it can't hurt....

Nintendo mainly distributed Diddy Kong Racing since the game was self-published by Rare.

this game is very good, long time since the last time i played, about 10 years. I always used to play with Conker back then ^^
Padoca85 2 years ago
Actually never played this. Does it have any more connection to the Donkey Kong-games other than the fact that you can play as Diddy?
An, Holy crap, I had totally forgotten of Battle and Chase! Yet another probably extremely expensive game to add to the "to get"-list ;)

Conker's Quest became Twelve Tales (...)a couple months before Banjo-Kazooie was released. 3 years later, Bad Fur Day came out.

Yeah, a sequal to bad fur day in the same fashion as the first without changing a lot of stuff, that would be awesome.
