Not trying its done, you can use anything you like in theory but yes there are right tools for the job, I am showing that it can be accomplished with home made tools. :) I will be uploading some hollow forum vessels soon the tooth pick holder is next to be hollowed out. cheers :)
@purplemonkey0 Bro I'm not a tool snob but let me defend that practice. There is a reason some tools cost lots of money. Quality that comes thru in the work you do. You can use the most broke dick lathe there is and with enough time and effort you can make a piece just as nice as one on a $5k Oneway lathe.But at some point you will get frustrated because of it's limitations and wish you had something better.Trust me.Been there and bought that(the cheap tool not the spendy)As skill developed.
@letslipthedogs as skill developed I wanted to do more but was limited by the tools I bought cheap. In the end I replaced a few things and never regreted it.I did regret buying the el cheapo lathe.
