This was one of my favourite songs on a best of FH CD I bought long ago. Thanks to Youtube I discovered the original version by Mina, for whom it was written. My opinion: Hardy has a fine measure of the quiet opening but has a hard time sustaining the spiralling melody in the last half of the song. Mina has the range to pull it off more thrillingly. Full credit to the great Morricone for this superb and unique song. Thanks for posting.
Thank You for posting FH is my favorite the first time I seen her here on You tube I nearly fell off my chair I was dizzy for months I had never been so taken before. I have a French fiance and thanks to FH I would not have found her. And yes I am taken even more with my fiance!
Yes, this is a great song.Voila, however, is my fav of hers not least because of the awesome video showing great close-ups of her. But unfortunately I can't get that one on youtube anymore! Woe is me!
hard to say if this one is her best but its certainly one of her best known, like all your channels and thanks for posting these great songs from a great musical era
I don't know, is it only my problem. When listening to Françoise Hardy’s about her almost every song I can say, that is the best, but this one is wonderful.
She is a great artist and this song is really beautiful; but I'd like to remember that the song was originally written for another incredible, italian, singer: Mina. The song was called "Se telefonando" and you can find it here in YT :)
France sure did but out a lot of great female singers in the vein as France Gall. Love this sound. Thanks for posting. pinkfloyd59 "an oldie, oldie lover till I die"

@UgoEmme Yes I've heard that, too. I just didn't know who had done the original version. But Ms Hardy's version is much better in my opinion.

Was she from Monaco or France? Either one sure put out a lot of great female singers. pinkfloyd59 "on oldie, oldie lover till I die"

she's realy from France. She still lives here and sometimes in Corsica with her husband Jacques Dutronc (another french famous singer).
