RDR is a fantastic game, no question about it. Both it and COJ are Westerns. But that's where the similarities end. COJ is not in the same ballpark as RDR but it's still pretty good. The story is good, the graphics look nice, the gameplay is fun, the rapport between the brothers is amusing. Just play and enjoy both. And afterwards go and buy GUN which is a bit like RDR but came out five years earlier! ;)

Also, there's a reason this game got higher user ratings than what the critics gave;whereas, RDR was just the opposite. Rockstar paid for all those undeserved awards and accolades. It is my personalopinion that COJ has more detailed graphics when compared to RDR. That said, COJ is very linear, thus allowing for extra detail, while RDR is a lot larger, and has better gameplay. COJ was built to play through single-player and get the story, where as RDR is more of a large sandbox-type. Each game has their ups and downs.

Very good game. Sure, prob. not near Red Dead in scope and variation as it is quite lineair, but the story is pretty good, and the action & shootouts are a blast! Many a times you feel like you're right in the middle of great scenes from the classic western movies. The 2 brothers offer enough differences in the gameplay to make both very interesting to play as, bringing some more variation
