The knights of the Teutonic order didn't have swastica shields (a design found all over Europe but not used by Teutonic knights) they used kite shields with black crosses on white backgrounds (13th centuary period anyway, later periods of course used heater shields); also the Hochmiester was the only one who war horns- geeze you'd think the people who made the game could ahve done some research...

They Conquered the area which you called today Baltic(early livland was Livonian Brothers of the Sword) and North Poland during a german East Expansion or so called crusades to the East! Secondly the first Schleswig War was a Danish victory due Prussia backing out due to the other great powers forcing her hand. After Austria finally conceded to allow it without threat of war (Their time would come 18 months later), Prussia crushed the Danes and the Danish surrendered Schleswig and Holstein. it's based on medieval europe; the swadians are the germans [i.e., the closest thing to teutonic knights], the nords the northern germanics [well, they're a bit earlier than the rest of the factions, I'd say saxon england], the vaegirs the rus, the khergits various steppe nomads, and the rhodoks I believe are the swiss. I'm pretty sure they just made it all fictional so they could have more breathing room.

in vanilla the teutonic knights are the "Swadian Knights" and are also the best cavalry in the game. 50 of those can take on anything.
