Funny enough - Egyptians have been on the brink of protesting for some time now for reasons to do with public services - mainly garbage pick up (?!) or the lack thereof.
Strategically we have an iron clad bond with Egypt's military. Sparking the protest was child's play. Mubarak was cutting too many deals on the side jeopardizing Washington's interests. i am egyptian and i know this is not true but the truthis a shade of grey i think they took the opertunity and rode it their way. they do not want any further protests. egyptians think that mubarak is behind every evil but this is not true he is just a head representive actor. proof that this is going their way the news channels and people are already celebrating, they have not overthrown the government though. and so obama couldnt care less, and gives a everyone a false sense of achievement.
