i like this movie for a very personal reason. it's the last movie i saw with my dad as a family before he passed away. i think it was the last hindi movie he ever saw. the movie was ahead of its time then. if it was released today it would be a blockbuster. Sri was stupendous in the movie.

Sridevi made Yash Chopra. He was unsuccessful from 1975 till 1989...when Blockbuster CHANDNI happened. He says in this video, that movie actually gave him strength for all that followed

Yashji reached in the penacle of his career was after Chandni and Lamhe. He idn't have any successful films in the 80s, Silsila bombed at the box office, it was only Chandni which gave his first it of 80s. he had no successes after 1975.

Yash has lot of regard to Sridevi (she is calm, she is dignified and yet so versatile that words cant describe). He spoke about her ONLY for half of the talk...and noone else. Karan also is in awe of her. She refused both Mohabbatein (role was completely dropped after she refused) & Veer Zaara (Hema did it later) when Adi wanted her to make a comeback. Role needs to be something to stand up to her...that is SRIDEVI.

yea Srdfan, Yash has always loved Sridevi. Actually I have a magzine where he written a big letter of appreciation to Sridevi and has been posted on the magazine. letter titled "To Sridevi with Love" I think this was written in early 90s. When he asked several times about Sri,Juhi,Madhuri he always said "Juhi is good, Madhuri is good but Sridevi is the best" and always said "She is the best we have"

Look Yash Chopra wanted to make Lamhe with Only Sridevi and newcomers. Why?? Simply bec he knew that Sridevi can hold the movie on her own shoulders as she did with Chandni. Anil when he knew Sri was doing Lamhe Anil went to Yash and approached him to get into the movie. Anil did really amazing job but his problem is that he is with Sridevi and as Salman Khan says about her "She kills off her costars and overshadow them with her terrific performance"
