They really could have put a lot more effort into character models. Frank Fontaine is just a recycled "Wader Splicer", and Tennenbaum is a recycled girl splicer. And Dr. Steinman was just another recycled splicer. I was hoping I would actually be able to meet Frank face to face....(besides the ending and I was hoping when I met him for the first time, he wouldn't be trying to tear my guts out.

fontaine faked his death because he knew the jig was up and that Ryan had one. he was also unpopular with alot of people as he was viewed as an opportunistic thug. so he remade himself as the revolutionary Atlas

@Ravendk07 Look carefully , Atlas` photo is clearly Fontaine ! It`s just he wore a wig and shaved a bit so he wouldn`t be recognized ! Also , the reason Fontaine/Atlas is a lot better-looking in The Main Events of Bioshock than in Flashbacks showing what Fontaine originally looked like is `cause Fontaine " got a new face " , in other words he got plastic surgery( no doubt the illegal kind )to soften up his features in order to appear more trustworthy !

Fontaine faked his death and took on the name Atlas, as well as a trusting accent. Ryan felt at ease thinking Fontaine was dead, so Atlas slowly gained power with the people. Then, Atlas used us to take out Ryan, and revealed himself as Fontaine, and was in fact not dead.
