  • Do the girls pay for their wedding themselves? Just asking because Joan's mother talks about her saving all her money for the wedding.

  • I have to say, I wasn't too impressed with the whole virginity until they were 16 concept since I was a virgin when I was 16 and I did not do any drugs either. But I have to admit that the 22 year old girl really impressed me for staying chaste.

  • What an incredible ugly dress!!

  • :55 money, hush, hush.

  • They probably pay like 400 dollars tops,

the quality of those dresses aren't that great,

they'll most likely fall apart after the wedding.

  • @Amikiae that's impossible, the rhinestones on the dress cost more than that.

  • @Amikiae The price of the dresses is in the thousands.

  • @Amikiae Those are swarovski crystals. Rather expensive.

  • @Amikiae they are covered in swavorski crystals, and the sheer amount of fabric required would equate to thousands and thousands of dollars... im not talking about $2000... im saying they would pay minimum $10, 000 for most of their wedding dresses...

  • I LOVE that they dont talk about money... I think every one should live like that. What does it matter how much your friend earns or how much your TV cost or how much your neighbor spent on their car? Its your money and your business. Nobody needs to know.

  • GOD KNOWS HOW MUCH SHE CHARGES THEM FOR THE DRESS!!!

  • I would do anything to get a date with Joan.

Joan if you see this then checkout Niclas Jensen on facebook ;-)

  • does anyone else think all the dresses this lady makes look cheap? They all have the sme type of look, but in different shapes, sizes and colours.

  • Are you sure that is the gypsy? NOW LET'S not a word I have to au their language is one or a gypsy song. because otherwise there is always at every gypsy wedding gypsy songs or you hear them speak their language. You can hear the other gypsy weddings and their language and songs and so I think those are not gypsies

  • She looks like a big white shoufflé... I admire the couturiers, they work really hard...

  • I really don't like the big dresses >< lol

  • What episode is this one??

  • i like the girl that has her birthday at the paintball place. she has a job, and she still is in school too.....power to rebels!!!!

  • why is th dress the most important thing? why is the love for your husband and sharing that with your loved ones not the most important thing on your wedding day!?

  • @Michelle5418 Oh my goodness!!!!! thats my thoughts exactly!!! ive posted the same thing on the other gypsies wedding videos as well!!!

  • @Michelle5418 It is, but do you see their way of life? They do care about love and their husband, but this is the one day they get for them! The one day that they are a princess, and they have been preparing for this dress since they were little. My wedding dress is a very important thing to. Its something ive thought about since i was a little girl...

  • Hehehe: "Is it that classy wedding you were after?" "Yeah, it turned out nice innit?" Couldn't help it. That cracked me up.

  • Oops I meant "the".

  • @Bhilithinn LOL, I love how the bride's got a big plate of fried chicken and chips for her wedding dinner too!

  • Such an interesting way of life, but I cant imagine getting married so young!

  • So much tacky crap here, it's like watching a bloody train wreck, I cant take my eyes off it.

  • Her response indiciates that these dresses cost big $. I wonder where the heck they get that kind of money.

  • Thanks so much for posting this. I live in the US (but my husband is British) and was really excited that they were showing it on American TV. But they DUBBED it in an American accent! If you don't have the real accents, you can't really see into the lives of the Travelers. The US version is not respectful.

  • @bjkmurray really? I've been watching in Texas on (TLC channel) and they didn't dub it but they did add subtitles to some people who had thicker accents

  • "We'll probably end up killing eachother" was right. Her and her husband seperated when she was 8 months pregnant because all they did was argue. Too bad.

  • @RedWhiteAndCanuck How do you know?

  • @RedWhiteAndCanuck

And how do you know this? It's supposed to be shameful for travellers to divorce... Never happens really.

  • 2:22 It's neat to see the difference between a 16 getting married and focusing on just the wedding day, and a 22 year getting married and focusing on married life. Maybe waiting at least a couple of years to get married isn't so bad, eh?

  • These girls all have very long hair. Is there any particular reason why?

  • I just wanna know how long it takes to make these dresses!!!!! How many customers does she get a month!!?? lol

  • "Maybe most Girls should take a leaf out their book!" that is fucked up thing to say.

  • THAR NOT REAL GYPSYS IM A REAL GYPSY THAR FAKE Y R YOUS SAYING THAT ABOUT US THATS NOT TRUE IM GOING TO SUE TLC FOR SAYING THOS THINGS...WE DO NOT WAR THARS UGLY DRESSES GO SEE REAL GYPSY WIDDINGS TYPE GYPSY WEDDING.. AND YOUS WILL SEE REAL WEDDINGS

  • To complain to OFCOM

  • This documentary is absolutely fascinating to me as it is to a lot of people living here in the US (it's airing on TLC here). I feel for Joan as I found out she divorced her husband while 8 months pregnant. Fortunately her parents took her in. It seemed that her parents didn't really want that sort of life for her anyway as they allowed her to get an education and she married at a ver old age of 22 (in gypsy years).

  • @jules4456 Wow that is awful. She seems like such a nice girl. How did you find out they got a divorce? Didn't she say in the interview that they had only met twice?

  • @evapor8ed

I read it in Dailymail UK. Not a surprise at all considering what she said during the show. Yes divorce is completely forbidden to the travellers but another traveller on this show divorced as well. I'm not saying divorce is good but maybe this show and it's exposure has let a lot of traveller girls realise that they don't need to put up with an awful uncaring husband. They do get married at a very young age after all.

  • @jules4456 who else got divorced? I know joan did and had a baby afterwards.

  • @chasethestars1 That part surprised me about Joan. Whatta shame she a very beautiful young lady. If he was a lousy jerk than who need that. But in the gypsy custom tradition after divorce can you get married again?

  • i'm really wondering why they don't discuss the prices of the dresses...or money in general...especially when their pay isn't high and these dresses and weddings are super expensive.

  • it is obvious that the dresses are really really expensive because an average dress for a nontraveller can be 8000. so imagine how much a dress with all that fabric and all those swarovski crystals can cost. i think they don't want the price revealed because people will wonder where they got the money from.

  • @fashiongrl2010 I was thinking the same thing. O.o

  • @fashiongrl2010

How do you know they are about 8000?

  • The one thing I disagree with is that the focus is on the wedding being SO important, rather than the marriage being more, or at least equally important. I'm not a Gypsy, though so I'm sure I'd have a different mentality if I were part of that culture.

  • i find it weird that they have these real simply sounding jobs and yet have these expensive wedding.......hmmm interesting

  • My goodness, the poor girl says that the "dress is the most important thing"

and her mother has the cheek to say that it has paid off for her. And what did

the poor daughter say ? " we will probably end up killing each other" = her husband.

Good Lord, what kind of an abuse of motherhood is that ? They could be muslim

women and decked out in burkas, they do not have any conception of a woman´s rights. It is shameful.

  • i would hat to pay for these weddings/receptions oh my goodness they look expensive

  • shes so freakin hot

  • Q. "is it the classy wedding you were after"

    A. "yeaaah, nice innit" , she says tucking into a big plate of chips.

  • @nahmy um, that's pasta.

  • @nahmy I thought the bride should have wearn more make-up.

  • awww this is so sweet :)

  • Shes 22 but you can tell her emotional growth is a bit stunted from her closeted life. The hearts on her wedding dress, is a tell. She seems very sweet.

  • @MsSaramak I think they're ok if classed up a bit. but that's for a more casual wedding not a big formal thing. I'd do it but, I am also not really going for pomp and circumstance.

  • travelers never talk about money because they steal from country people to get those awful, tacky weddings....my aunt's jewelry probably paid for those horrendous dresses

  • Very interesting!

  • the travellors have lots of money!QQ what do they do anyway?

  • shes a very pretty girl but theres just no need for that dress how can anyone find it attractive it looks like one of them doll things u use to cover toilet rolls up on lol!

  • @leii1024 I agree! That's the first thing I thought of when I saw these gowns----either that, or they look like the wedding cake. But....whatever floats their boats. And I believe these dresses would float!

  • that dress is awful!!

  • lovley girls! all of them... Joan is just sooo sweet ! good luck to them all!

  • Now, their culture is their own, but i think it's a shame that the girls are not expected or challenged to do anything. They're only expected to find a husband and settle down. How many good doctors, nurses, scientists, teachers and so on are we (or they) losing because of that?

  • why don´t they talk about money? is it because they do not get the money legally?

  • @poshbecky because talking about money is just cheap.

  • @ChillinInTheUniverse get to fuck will you.they cry poverty and don't pay taxes.ride around in top of the range cars.divious wankers.

  • how do gypsy's afford these millionaire weddings?

    .

is 100% of their income legal?

  • @bigcherry99 Everyone is wondering the same thing...I guess that part of the ''documentary'' is not important >>

  • From the u.k now living in canada..my family had told me about the show and i was delighted to be able to view it here..Many Thanks..:)

  • wow, this is interesting to watch. Thanks for uploading! I've been alot of press about this show. Love from the US.

  • I'm a 22 year-old girl, I've got a university education, I've traveled the world, I live in a foreign country, I work and support myself (and I think I've spent maybe 5 minutes in my life worrying about some stupid wedding dress)--and honestly, these girls kind of make me sad. There's so much more to life than just settling down with some guy you barely know.

  • fish n chips at wedding reception 0:07 - sheer class

  • @1861robertelee About a second after I thought the same thing, I saw your comment. Thanks for saving me from wasting my time writing somethi......oh wait

  • lol DIVORCED

type joan furey divorce into google.

perhaps if she had of met her partner more than twice, and focused more on the fact she was getting married (life partnership) instead of on how amazing her dress was. She would have found someone she loved and loved her, now shes divorced...

  • if she wont say the price of the dress, maybe they're paying her in drugs or something. Because surely it would cost a couple of thousand for a hand made dress with swarovski crystals right? how can uneducated, semi unemployed ppl afford that?

  • Unless she uses cheap, shitty fabric, and gives them a huge discount, those dresses [just counting the cost of fabric alone] have to be a pretty penny...and that's not even counting labor.

  • Great! Looking forward to the rest of the series - we can't get this in the US ....

  • :05 LOL listen to that voice, classyyyy

  • First, TheCobraUK, thank you so much for taking the time to upload. You have opened my eyes to something new (I'm Canadian). I applaud that they are keeping with tradition, and that they love their families. Love the dresses.

  • The good news is Channel 4 have made a new series of Gypsy weddings and i'm at present recording the series! I shall when time permits get them uploaded asap!

  • @TheCobraUK

    Thankyouu soo much !!!!!!

I recently moved to Australia so I cant watch it anymore but now you ve uploaded itt i can :D

    THANKYOUU SOOO MCUH!!!!!!!!!

  • @GallagherGirlCam your very welcome!!! I shall get the others uploaded soon, so far I have 2 x 1 hr docs and believe me you will be shocked to see a 6 yr old girl having a spray tan...it's caused a bit of mayhem here in the "UK"....anyway thanks to you and everyone that enjoy the uploads!

  • @TheCobraUK I agree spray tans are a bit much for a 6yr old. Here in the US we have a show on TLC called Toddlers and Tiaras and all of the little 4yr old girls in pageants get spray tans!

  • @TheCobraUK As always it has to make a big hit Overseas first before we get it here in Sydney. I saw the first episode in June at a friends house. I don't have cable so I am glad I have found it online :) thanks!

  • @TheCobraUK Shocked to see a 6yr old having a Spray Tan... I used to be. But after living in the US and watching 'Toddlers and Tiaras' i think nothing shocks me anymore....

  • @TheCobraUK awesome, can't wait to see. thanks from the US.

  • @TheCobraUK cheers :) i wish the us got this so ppl would actually know gyspies exist

  • @TheCobraUK ur officially my new best friend! im obsessed and its not the same in the US! we would edit out the good parts!

  • @TheCobraUK THANK YOU!!!!!!!!;-))))

  • Bless Joan, 6 years saving for her dream wedding, and now filing for divorce with a new born baby.

google - dailymail Joan Furey divorce

  • 'Is it the classy wedding you wished for?' *eating plate full of chips*

  • she's a fecking knacker ! Divorced within 8 months of marriage.

The slapper who makes the dresses can't tell the price because the "travellers would kill me " ? for fuck sakes. fucking tinkers

  • @nilsins Yeah she spent the entirety of the first part talking about the morals they have...

  • she's a fecking knacker !

  • Joan sounds very sensible - the one person who thinks past the wedding day!

  • "is the classy wedding you wanted?"

"yep! turned out nice, i'n't it?"

  • joan is so beautiful and sammy joes dress amazing

  • You can tell the difference between Joan and the other traveler girls. Most traveler girls drop out of school as soon as they can, and Joan seems to be a smart, more well adjusted person because she continued her education.

  • This, a million times this. Let them be happy.

  • 0:08 - 1:10.......WTF!!!

  • Wow that was amazing. Ive never heard of this sort of culture until i started watchin this [i was originally just looking at wedding videos & pics & stumbled upon this on google]. But there are some things dat i dnt understand...y are ppl prejudice against travellers/gypsies?? they seem really nice...& i have no problem against the short, revealing dresses, i love showin off my figure, but i dont understand their cultral concept of it..

regardless, i love the wedding dresses! i wuld def wear 1

  • Joan seems like a genuinely nice person

  • Joan seems like such a sweet girl.

  • joan's dress looks like a meringue...

  • All power to these people for keeping thier way of life and not conforming to what society wants them to be. I think good on them for having the weddings and living thier lives they way they want to :)

  • @arianabanana83 yes, you're so right, let's all support this "culture" so that they can continue to brainwash their women into believing that slavery and abuse is acceptable. Let's also support this culture because it encourages and rewards men to treat women as disposable objects who's only purpose in life is to care for them. Let's commend these moral-rich people for the outstanding job they have done at fucking up an entire generation of intelligent, capable women :)

  • @arianabanana83 And for conditioning females to be house wives with very little education or mindset out of their trailer kitchens. ^^

  • @arianabanana83

Yeah, God forbid these girls give in to what society offers them, like "an education" or "a career" or "a life that doesn't involve slaving away for your husband for the rest of your days".

These people are straight out of the 16th century in every way.

  • All that material is not cheap.

  • Thanks once again for taking the time, much appreciated!

  • Even without the last 10 minutes, this was fascinating! What an amazing culture. Thanks from the U.S. :)

  • Please publish the last bit cos I cant use Channel 4 for watching it though I live in Sweden :(

  • I can't get 4OD, I'm in Germany, so that's why it's great that you've posted it.

    Thanks again for trying though!

  • Have you put on the last bit? It's a fab documentary!

  • God bless the gypsy culture, I'm so happy I'm not a gasho. WE ROCK!

  • Where's the rest? I have to see the end!!

Thanks for posting, though. I really wanted to see this.

  • Please do! I've realy enjoyed this!

  • Thanks for posting...I have been looking all week for it!!

  • Is part 5 the end of the show?? I sure enjoyed this. A look into a culture I have misunderstood forever! They are very moral people. Wish the girls & boys in the USA were as upright.

  • Wow, Thank you for leaving that comment, as a gypsy I really appreciate people who have misunderstood us (because it is so easy to) but then come to realize how good and true we really are, and then speak out about it. I wish more people could be so open minded.
