malcolm x should be regarded as a hero for all americans... i think this skit is hilarious but in a way it does reinforce the stereotype that many white americans have of malcolm x that he is "extremist" in fact he was only regarded as an "extremest" at the time because he dared to tell America about its atrocious racism at a time when many people were too scared so it was regarded as "extreme" but in reality he never advocated anything but peace and defense of ones family. he was a great man!
One glaring difference between Malcolm's black nationalism and white nationalism is that Malcolm's wasn't fueled by blind hatred and ignorance; it was the cause of a lifetime of injustice and oppression that became too much to take without getting pissed off. He did preach (until he did his hajj and realized that oppression of all peoples was the root problem of many issues in society, not just the oppression of Blacks) fighting fire with fire. He also got a skewed version of Islam which taught him that White people were the enemy, rather than certain people and attitudes. After 1963, his teachings become less "extreme". We are only taught about one part of Malcolm X's life in civil rights.

malcolm x should be regarded as a hero for all americans... i think this skit is hilarious but in a way it does reinforce the stereotype that many white americans have of malcolm x that he is "extremist" in fact he was only regarded as an "extremest" at the time because he dared to tell America about its atrocious racism at a time when many people were too scared so it was regarded as "extreme" but in reality he never advocated anything but peace and defense of ones family. he was a great man!

One glaring difference between Malcolm's black nationalism and white nationalism is that Malcolm's wasn't fueled by blind hatred and ignorance; it was the cause of a lifetime of injustice and oppression that became too much to take without getting pissed off. Sure, he preached hate but to him it was basically fighting fire with fire.

@txff2002 Malcolm X didn't preach hate. He did preach (until he did his hajj and realized that oppression of all peoples was the root problem of many issues in society, not just the oppression of Blacks) fighting fire with fire. He also got a skewed version of Islam which taught him that White people were the enemy, rather than certain people and attitudes. After 1963, his teachings become less "extreme". We are only taught about one part of Malcolm X's life in civil rights.

Not quite. The Nation of Islam is racist and absolutely nuts. I realize that Malcolm converted to Sunni Islam at the end of his life (which is why the Nation had him killed); but for much of his life he advocated all the BS that Elijah Muhammed advocated.
