Did you actually videotape your tv? LOL. Reminds me of the good ol' days when we'd call in a request to our local radio station; tape recorder perched next to the radio and fingers on the play/record button. But then someone would enter the room and mess it up. How could they NOT know that silently jumping up and down and frantically waving arms and hands meant, "Be quiet! I'm recording!"

Neil often has this effect on me...I'm grinning from ear to ear while the tears roll down my face. I've loved the man since 1979, and the more I learn about Neil, the more impressed I am by him. He is truly a wonderful human being. I'm always at a loss for words when trying to express my respect and admiration for him. If only there were more people like Neil in this world...

I used to have Lionel Train sets when I was a kid.

I wonder if Lionel perfected their signalgates. I was dazzled by real signalgates when I was a kid. One I got for Christmas did not have the flashing lights and realistic sounds.

To go vhs to digital you will need an analog to digital converter box. Pinnacle makes them both RCA plug to FIRE WIRE, and RCA to USB. Pinnacle Studio 9 Movie Box is what I use. I use fire wire and load straight to wmm or i-movie. It also deletes the copywright protection so you can copy dvd's and such

another reason why this guy's the greatest. in his bio, neil talks about how his 1982 album trans (where he ran his voice thru synths) was about his attempts to communicate with his son. ben's condition was kept out of the press at the time, so the LP got panned & described as "distant" when in fact it was quite personal. thanx for posting, anyone have a cleaner copy?

read Shakey by Jimmy McDonough. Neil had polio when young & epileptic episodes for many years. A doctor advised him that if he ever took acid he "would be too far gone." I know Neil took uncle cid in th 70's but Ben's condition probably stems from genetic problems or from the polio episodes. LSD is rather harmless

@AllenCollins1 You are right. I have this album, and only three of the nine tracks on it are Neil's voice audible and clearly understood. The rest are distorted as Neil chose them to be using a vocal synth. The inability of the audience to clearly understand Neil's voice mirrored his difficulty in understanding what his son was saying to him.
