So basically what you're saying is too much government in the wrong hands is the problem. But you're also saying that immense government power in the right hands is brilliant. Problem is we have elections every year, and new people get their slimey hands on power. You'll never seem to understand - Government IS the problem. The only answer is a government that has no power to infringe on your freedom, which is what sanford supports. btw the governor and mayor were dems, so mute point u partisan
Yeah, and the president and Congress did a brilliant job on Katrina, didn't it? That's the guy's point. Not all Republicans are for big government. Some are still genuinely conservative.
Who the hell voting for this piece of shit, his state has the highest unemployment & he is turning down money. This is why we dont vote for Republicans. I recommend everybody; please move the FUCK out of South Carolina.
I live in SC. I support him. It's about some damn time someone said take responsibility for your actions. The dumb bastards that screwed the economy up should not receive a DIME of money. They should be living in a card board box by now. I do NOT want to reward stupidity and i'll be damned if I let someone else do it. This is why texas and south carolina are the only states without there head up there asses. Every other state bends over and accepts it.
I'm sure he doesn't want any stimulus money when he can just cut the budgets for the state's universities....This guy sucks, and anyone who receives state scholarships feels the effects of his fiscal mismanagement.
Right on krnoble. By fiscal frugality he means complete abandonment of secondary education in our state, which has been among the worst in the nation for my entire life. The product is an uneducated population that relies on quickly disappearing manufacturing and textile jobs. Now we can add booming unemployment to SC's impressive list of accomplishments.
enough of the spending. who's telling obama these economic stories? you can't blame "typical republican policies" as the problem, and then claim the solution IS TO DO MORE OF THE SAME FUCKING THING!!! take a lesson from japan of the 90's and the depression of 1920 and the recessions in 1837 and 1819. its not doing nothing, its liquidation: the transfer of capital goods from unproductive enterprises to productive enterprises.
Remember, people. Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it. The US of A is going to continue to be fucked up the A-S-S by this overspending juggernaut of a government.
If there was an analogy for this it would be: would you rather get punched in the gut, or shot in the gut by a gun? The last thing we need is hyperinflation. Does CNN care? No it does not.
Interestingly the news media take on this is how much the Poltical Class insists their view on shaping the world, in their image, they will not give up power or do the right thing, they just want to steal our money, image how great a nation we would have if the news media didn't brain wash people and show truth, like gov doesn't create jobs, it destroys as many jobs in private secotr for the one it makes, and with more mal-investment amking it worst for everyone, why mainstream media only spin?
I agree with the Governor but I dont know what happens after the shakeout. We still wont be in a position to compete in the world market at that point. Long term, we need to figure out how to increase productivity so that our products are again competitive which will allow us to consume and borrow less from abroad. For example, how do we compete again in the world textile market?
Abolishing the federal reserve system will free up the ingenuity of our markets again. The huge service industry bubble has to collapse and be replaced by renewed industry in this country. We have to export more, literally abolish almost every "function" of government, balance the budget and cut taxes significantly. Only then will the economy boom.
The problem is the global economy already is in a disastrous situation.
The Hoover dam might not have lifted America out of the recession, but it surely was useful after the recession was over, because then the businesses could use the power and infrastructure that was already there.
Things like these are investments into the future.
errr...we don't have the money for you "investments into the future." Btw, private companies have always been at the forefront in those areas anyway. However such investments by government will push the interest on our debt to an unbearable level, to the point that tax revenue will equal interest, at which point the collapse of the united states (and 100% taxes) becomes inevitable, and then we'll see how useful and neccessary you're disgusting use of government power was.
At first I thought Samford was going to get duped by the clown reporter but he made a reasonable and logic answer. Basically he took a dump on him.

Why not stop flushing BILLIONS of dollars down the toilet in Iraq, and Afghanistan. Both countries had nothing to do with 9/11.

What? Taliban harbored Al Qaeda in Afghanistan.
Try not to be such a moron.
ariesvids 2 years ago
What is the difference between the Al Qaeda 2009 and the North American Indians before 1880? NOTHING!!!
ManufacturedThoughts 2 years ago
North American Indians did not attempt to impose a backward, violent, primitive religion on the rest of the world.
Really, aren't you embarassed of being a moron? I guess not if you keep replying.

Sounds like your talking about the primitive, backward, and violent religion of Christianity.
