Actual quality aside, you really need to be aware that the development never repeats in any classical-era sonata. Only the development+recapitulation, and that only sometimes.
@sirshitsalot007 I disagree... It's extremely difficult to write a piece in the form of a classical sonata over 200 years old... Purely of your own designs. This amazing piece isn't perfect, of course not. Nonetheless it's spectacular composing; and the work is indeed well worth it.
@contagious6969 no I'm not sure I have a copy anymore.... I'll look.... I'm honored you're interested. I sorta scrapped this piece after I finished it, and am by no means proud of it. But I'll look for the pdf nonetheless and put it up somewhere..... I'll get back to you.
I'm not very experienced in terms of studying classical works, but having seen the other compositions up on this site there's something that makes this one kind of exceptional. Although some sections can feel a bit...redundant, it's catchy and the structure is good. It's definitely underrated and I'm sensing some talent in progress. I subscribed, keep up the good work!
I love the form of this piece and I love the theme so playful yet dramatic. Um only thing I would say wrong is the development doesn't really need repeating but thats just me, its your piece. FUNN
@LackingLack0 I could ask you to tell me the message for a myriad of masterworks far superior to this in structure, form and beauty; however you probably couldn't find a message because most music is absolute and not programmatic. What an idiotic snobbish question.
Sorry to burst your bubble but there isn't any deeper message, it's a sonata I wrote to learn about the sonata form, so I wrote down a melody, and worked with it. It's not my Ninth Symphony.
@fofenry you know, this is actually really great. The introduction theme is quite high in musical quality, and I consider it to be something that maybe even Beethoven could have written early on.
@fofenry you raise an argument concerning the messages that are to be conveyed by a piece of music and believe there doesn't need to be one, yet there really should be overall music is supposed to strike some in an emotional sense somewhat or it would just be sound with no purpose, and this sonata its interesting allot of good musical ideas, i just didn't really get what the purpose of the work was, other than to experiment with sonata form, which makes this piece a waste of your time
@lilstunnawbp I suppose when an artist learns how to draw a face it's a waste of time. Let's learn grammar before we write Shakespeare, and judging by your post, grammar isn't one of your stronger areas. If I didn't write a sonata because I figured, oh it'd be a waste of time, because I didn't have the perfect emotional inspiration that would instill beautiful interpretive imagery in the heads of the listener, I'd be nowhere. Just figured I'd actually waste my time and respond.
I'm not a musician, so I'm not sure what octaves are... but if i knew how to explain what I'm thinking I'd have to say it has too many octaves :) Besides that I like it.
Yes and it also sound Kennedyesque as well. Have you ever listened JFK's music. No? Well neither have I. Obviously what's written above is a joke. Sorry it made you so angry.
it's like rather toccata und fuge d-minor

very nice. i loved the recap especially. i felt elements of beethoven's tempest sonata in this as well as bach's toccata.

this is beautiful. So existentialist. It reeks of Stockhausen, yet has a vibe all its own, yet profoundly Mozartian.
Kennedyesque indeed.

STOCKHAUSEN???
Have you even listened to any Karlheinz Stockhausen??
