Dr. King, as a historical figure, was discussed many times in school. Multiple television spots have been devoted to him. He is discussed and honored repeatedly in the news and by commentators. Despite that, I never saw the above clips, clips speaking out against the Vietnam war, even criticizing American arrogance in foreign policy. It's amazing how the media culture has manufactured an image of Dr. King that doesn't conflict with American militarism.

He wasn't killed for liberating Blacks, but for denouncing the Vietnam War, poverty across ALL racial lines, and the imbalance of power and wealth in America, all of which he had shifted his focus to in his last years. He was putting the blame on those guilty of such atrocities and, most importantly, he had a following.
