I'm going to start a new service: delivering surfer to big waves via helicopter, or perhaps with a bungie cord tethered from a hot air balloon above the wave.

You can actually paddle far out to sea then catch the big waves before they get very big, then just ride the whole thing from its infancy to it big wave peak. Amazing!!
