Alternative Highlander Endgame Ending

The true Highlander is Connor Macleod Period. I did not like how movie ended in endgame no way Duncan would win in a true battle of immortals plus the storyline stated Connor won the prize when he beat Kurgan then became a mortal after that.

I am wondering if someone can answer a question for me. Just this week, I watched this movie again on Showtime. At the end, this scene between Duncan and his former wife was deleted; the viewer is left thinking she is dead. Instead, the movie ends with Duncan standing at Connor's grave. I had remembered this scene between Duncan and Faith when the movie was first released.

When was the ending changed and why was it changed? Does anybody know?

Faith died in the theatrical version. She lived in a version (director's cut?) that was released on DVD.

Interesting ending but Endgame was an epic fail, mainly because they killed off Conner. Why they just didn't have him and Duncan team up for the final fight is beyond me, especially when they knew this wouldn't be the last movie/tv show in the Highlander series. I'm still waiting for the new game for the 360 that they keep delaying and pushing back further.

My guess is, that Christopher was somehow growing too old for the franchise, remember imortals do not age, but poor Connor has clearly grown old between the highlander movie and the endgame rip off.

But don't worry they managed to kill of the franchise with that source bullshit anyway.

Whoever Eric was, I'm certain he loved this tribute. Dante's Prayer is a song with haunting beauty not unlike Bonny Portmore which has become the unofficial themesong for Highlander. Too bad this song wasn't included as well.

The serious was excellent. It was well acted. The stories were short moral tales of ethics, right vs. wrong, and the meaning of life. Philosophically it resembled a weekly western, perhaps The Rifleman more than others. It asked interesting questions. Does life mean more or less if it is infinite? It explored the plight of the "Immortal" better than most such fiction. Eventually, in my eyes, Duncan became The Highlander, with a rich mythology. The original movie remains a camp classic.

The series was awful. The first film as a stand alone is what counted most and was a classic. Anyone with sense realises that. The fact they're remaking original film itself is a poor joke. Originality is rare in Hollywood or US anymore.

I believe its time to remake the whole story, start fresh with new people, new characters, drop the aliens, magic, and stick to the flavor of the first film, but with the prize way off, say a hundred or so immortals left and for god sake no new ones.(Richie) Adrian Paul was ok but the stories in the series were crap, 10% of them watchable the rest tripe. Let us begin afresh, young actors who can play immortals for 5-6 films without looking ancient.

Duncan killed two out of the 4 oldest immortals back to back, he has defeated a demon god. I liked Connor alot but if you watch the series Connor is not even in the same league as Duncan.

I would prefer the princes of the universe to who wants to live forever, as that's more of a love song.. and is more towards the love story of the other 3 Highlander films. ;) It's a shame Queen aint still all here..

I liked the movie endgame but it went against the series story line. In the episode that tessa died it said that macleod had never been married in his lifetime, but in endgame shows that he was married to kate aka. faith, so one of them has to be wrong.

i've collected all of the highlander films and tv series, and let me tell you, the series is very well done, complete with flashbacks in every episode of it. not to mention a lot of good hero and villian immortals. to put it simple in my own words, don't diss a series unless you've watched a few episodes of it!

Those scenes only existed in the trailers. They were never a part of the script, or had anything to do with the movie. Dimension films, in their infinite wisdom, decided to film a bunch of extra "fantasy" scenes for the trailers to try and get the young male demographic in the seats.

Connor and Duncan Mcleod are different characters. they are in the same clan, but they are different individuals. Duncan ends up killing Connor in this movie (hence, there can only be one.)

neither of them can kill the opponent in a duel, so one had to overcome the other, absorbing his powers, and facing the opponent. and, ofcourse, Duncan chops the head of the bastard. Duncan's the last immortal. Connor is dead.
