  • pls help: at 1:07 they are calling the spotter ... what is he saying about the target?

  • they dont care about who are down there , they're lying to you when they say clean war , some of those shells explode before reaching land to cause maximum damage to WHO ? ANY humans ! do you understand why civilians are almost the biggest part of war victimes ? (you know there's NO FRONT in the battle showed here).

  • i'd piss my pants if i see those shell coming toward me

  • Iraqi: "make a wish hunny!"

  • @Ilovehoghunting I don't think they can afford anything like that.. ha

  • My God that was beautiful!!! and i totally agree with that soldier... "Somebody is getting seriously fucked up down 'er!".. AWESOME!

  • i wanna take the audio from this clip

  • Why do they glow like that. Or do they have some UV emitter thing on them

  • @Glassybubbles1231234 er no

they glow cause those shells are hot night vision lights everything up being verry hot

those shells probably glowing a bit so u can still se them

  • @Glassybubbles1231234

There's a material that burns on the bottom of the shell which, by releasing hot gasses, reduces the turbulence around the base of the shell, allow it to go further. That burning material is what you're seeing through the night vision. If you want to look it up, go Google "Base-Burn DPICM"

  • @Krait99 awsome we need more smart ppl like u that really know wat their talkin about

  • Americans will never get it right. They do war wrong. They do peace wrong.

There is no collective understanding about peace in America.

  • @stahlwerke would you shut the fuck up. you're so stupid

  • @xmikerinehartx see? just an example.

  • @stahlwerke you're just another dumbass on here trying to insult America because you watch your news so now you automatically know everything about america

  • to much doing war, and the bankrupt and then be a loser...just watch it later

  • how us cannot win with stupid arabs with ak with flyin shit like this.

  • @h3um because they hide behind civilians and they wear civilian clothing

  • HOLY SH-

  • don´t know who, but the man there are under these fire, got an very very very bad day.

  • that is amazing... are the rounds specifically for NV or do all rounds glow like that

  • @noradnorthcom NORTH AMERICA KNOWS CAN'T REASON WITH TERRORISTS!DEAD EM ALL!

  • that is BEAUTIFUL!

  • Guys, at what distance were those projectiles fired?

  • @lukasoss they can fire 30+km but idk how far this is

  • i wanna see where they hit ;)

  • Now that is FIRE POWER!!! Thats one way to clear the yard!!! I can only imagine what its like on the other side. All hell must be breaking loose!!

  • paladins?

  • @WinoPL U.S. Marine 155mm howitzers

  • @WinoPL Yes

  • Steel rain would fuck up anyones day...

  • Beautiful. Thumbs up if you agree.

  • Hell If I saw that, I would think nowhere is safe. I mean, how can you defeat artillery? haha

  • Dont FUCK with the states!

  • that is a lot of heavy rain

  • The distance those shells are traveling....that is some crazy ass shit.

  • sucks to be on the incoming end

  • most of you dont fuckin know shit about war anyways on here you get a rush through watchign bullshit like this but at the end when those rockets hit the ground think how many innocent people lose their lives, and listen to these guys in the background "somebody is getting fucked up" fuckin ignorant, wtf did you guys shoot so many rockets at probaby hit fuck all anyways, what war are you in really who are you fighting think

  • @BiHKalashnikov

I doubt the arty is going anywhere near civilians. Since this was during the initial invasion of Iraq , my guess would be its being fired against fortified Iraqi defensive positions. There would be no civilians in such areas.

By the way there were spotters (FO's) directing the fire, so they are hitting known locations while under surveillance.

  • ok ummmm.....wats happening??.................all i seeing is fire works .....nothing hitting d ground

  • those bright things are artillery rounds look on the horizon and you wil see them landing.(bright flash)

  • @MrTheaterjunkee i'm still lost...honestly

  • its long range artillery the bright lights you see trailing are deadly precision artillery rounds going down range and to deliver a very personal message to the rag heads on the receiving end. the only thing you need to understand is that there is alot of scorched and burnt muslim flesh where ever those rounds are landing.

  • @MrTheaterjunkee OHHHHHHHH DAMN THANKS MAN THANKS...........I SEE WA U TALKING BOUT THEY!.......CUZ I WAS REALLY WOUNDERING!,.....OK LONG RAGE FIRING!..THANKS ALOT

  • look on the horizon dick ward.

  • lol at 2:18! awesome!!!! 4th of july all over again!!!

  • OMG that many shells.. thats SICKENING!!!!

  • Stand corrected. Base-burn projos that are DPICM M864 projo. 72 bomblets on board.

  • It's not rocket-assisted projos. The guy tells you it's DPICM-Dual Purpose Improved Conventional Munitions. IIRC there are 96 grenade bomblets per projo released over the target area.

Given that, the effect down-range was a sh!tstorm from hell. You wouldn't want to be under that very long and because it's dual purpose each grenade has a shaped-charge explosive. That means overhead cover isn't going to be a big help either.

    Nasty.

  • @bendbadgersteve

There are Rocket Assisted DPICMs. I do that for a living, so I know a little bit about it.

One of my arty instructors was part of that shoot. They were targeted ONE stadium that was being used as a staging area by Iraqi forces, and they wanted to ensure that there was not a trace of anything left.

  • @shakenbake147

You must have missed my correction about a base-bleed DPICM projo above the referenced comment. Attention to detail would help. I used to do that for a living too and instructed FAOBC and FAOAC at Firing Btry Branch, Weapons Dept. USAFAS. So they've developed a base-burn DPICM projo since I've moved on.

  • @bendbadgersteve

Didn't mean to come across as an asshole, although I can see how I did.

Nope, I didn't notice your correction...I don't particularly care about attention to detail when perusing YouTube comments =P

Anyways, I'm USMC, so maybe we use different terminology. We use the term Rocket Assisted to describe base-bleed projos. I mean, that is what it is, a low-thrust rocket.

  • @shakenbake147

No worries. I was army but my two OICs at Firing Btry Branch were USMC majors. We were short captains then and brand new army (marines refused to offer up their lieutenants-smart) 2LTs were being assigned instructor slots at the school. Both majors knew their jobs very, very well and taught me a lot about being both an officer and an artilleryman. A whole lot.

  • How can you hear anything after that

  • yall are all idiots, there is no depleted uranium, its a rocket propelled artillery shell, after so many rotations out of the cannon a rocket activates. that is why you can only se the end of the round through night vision goggles!!!

  • WATCH UR FUCKING FiRE UR KILLING FRIENDLYS!!!!!

  • 1:20 check your fire ! ROTFL LOL

    KKKKKKKKKK

  • @TaltuvaUlundurArgnie It's more like, "HEY SARGE?! HOW THE HELL DO YOU TURN THIS THING OFF?, IT JUST KEEPS SHOOTIN'! " LOL!

  • Man that was an awesome video.

  • check your fire?! lol

  • naw... lets just send a whole lotta high explosive down range and then wait to find out haha

  • Holy smokes, that shit aint no Joke! I would hate to be on the receiving end of that! Whatever they were firing at, they were completely trying to obliterate its existence.

  • which weapons?

  • can someone explain why those shells is visible in the night vision camera? I can image they generate a lot of heat. How can they be that bright?

  • the night vision actually reads heat signatures, the hot shells emit quite a lot of heat when they clear the barrel

  • The shells are depleted uranium which heats up to high degrees, by the time it hits armor its so hot it melts it like butter.

  • @tossingmidgetsforfun

    That's ridiculous.

  • man i dont think anyone in here knows how it works

neither do i, but i don't think it's thermal or maybe it's just set to a certain frequency since you can't see anything but the shells even though soldiers are in the video they would be lit up too.

i think its just an infrared camera and the rounds have tracers

  • SWEET

  • someone is getting fucked up down range

  • INCOMING!

  • They seem slow because of the perspective, the guy filming is standing very close to the guns, so the rounds are moving almost directly away from the guy filming.

  • A shell moves about 1500 fps (average) . The time interval from firing until impact is about 40 seconds (+/-) as measured from the video. Therefore the shell has traveled about 60,000 ft in 40 seconds or 12 miles (+/-). In spite of the "dire consequences" at the other end, this video is an excellent example of Newtonian phyiscs: notice the nice parabolas the shells follow, one after another, as required by the law of gravity (connect the dots). I suggest you not try this at home.

  • omg... did he say a regimental DPICM mission? holy shit lol...

  • iron rain. You gotta love that shit

  • The Paladin howitzers(which we use) can fire a 155 millimeter round(incendiary likely) up to 18 miles. So thats why the rounds looking slow,But those fuckers are coming in hot and its gonna suck for most likely with all the shells being fired A tank division as surfstrat59 also pointed out.

  • NEED ANSWER plz : these lights are the the Fired rounds or what ? if yes then why we see them going slowly ...

  • You see them slowly since they are probably fired several miles away

  • an iraq with night vission googles looks up and is probaly like holy shit

  • Comment removed

  • those rounds are probably impacting 13 to 17 miles away..... must have been an iraqi tank regt. or something big to hit it with that many rounds... whatever it was, it no longer exists. that's a whole lotta hot shrapnel. you don't even have to be in the kill radius of the rounds cause the blast will kill with concussion... shoulda surrendered when they could LOL...

  • can anybody tell me how far these rounds are going in this video?

  • This makes me proud to say that I was in 5/11

  • Would the target have heard the rounds coming?

  • "A regimental DPICM mission" using 155's. The 155-mm DPICM projectile contains two types of dual-purpose grenades (64 M42 and 24 M46). Both types are capable of penetrating more than 2.5 inches of rolled homogeneous armor. They are also capable of fragmentation for incapacitating personnel. Whatever they were targeting would have been leveled beyond belief.

  • hell awaits to who ever is in the receiving end of that

  • was this a howitzer team firing on a location? cuz they were blasting some serious folk down there.

  • Are these rounds rocket assisted? why do they show up on IR?

  • They show up on IR because they are hot.

  • They show because they are extended range DPICM and have a base burner that reduces aerodynamic drag and increases range.

  • most be from a huge fire base

  • Firebase Fox on the Kuwait border firing the first shots of the war.

  • Turtleproof: Took the words straight from my brain.

  • An awful thing, but an awe-inspiring sight. Those shells are moving extremely fast, yet look to be floating slowly due to the vast distance they're traveling.

  • it is time for the east to glow

  • yeah except if we attack Iran, man other iron curtain countries will come to its aid.

  • i know you are right

  • I can't the video of Baghdad being bombed when gulf war. The one that you can see anti air shooting, i think was the famous cnn live broadcast presented.

  • I would very much like to see the end result of the Howitzer's target. I think it would be very satisfying for some reason

  • YEAH! Eat that you fucking rag cunts. Love the Howies! Did you like the bitterness of American love? Taste the anthrax on my cock before I fuck your ass

  • That's because the enemy was 14 miles away. It destroyed an entire division of enemy tanks. Roughly 50 artillery pieces were used, an entire regoment of artillery. Each one of those blips you see is an artillery shell.

  • I didn't think Iraq even had tanks in the last invasion. I think it could've been support fire. There's a book written where bout 400 iraq/al-qaeda/shiite/sunni/fuckheads wholed up in a fortress of some sort and the yanks, pretty much on their own, sorted all those mother fuckers out. Do you see my point?

  • ca doit te faire bizarre quand c'a te dégringole sur le coin de la tronche!!

  • you too , stupid ...

  • Actually if you knew anything you would know that US only killed a mere 33% of the civs.. 67% caused by IED's and Suicide bombings by insurgents or Iraqi on Iraqi violence. Second.. Insurgents and Saddam used Civs as Body Armor..So if you think avoiding civ casualties is possible at all your an idiot..Just be happy this isn't WWII with carpet bombing of Cities vs targeted strikes.

  • sure , but , hope which don't get worse this wars ...

  • Why is it people in relatively safe, civilised countries always bitch and whine and fucking complain from the safety of their desk chair about the shit some people are inflicting on others? If they feel so strongly about it, wouldn't they try to help in some way?

  • heh fireworks ;d

  • how many howitzers were firing???

  • What is it?????

  • U.S. artilery during the initial linvasion of iraq.

    150's

  • @crotonriver Desert Storm>?

  • this is bravo 1/11, "beastmasters", during the initial invasion into iraq.

  • Whoever was on the receiving end of that got royally PWNT.

  • Holy crap, thats insane!

  • this is crazy man! awesome. .i can hear this stuff all the time here, but have never seen a display like this!!

  • That is one of the coolest things I've ever seen. Awesome.

  • Kick those Iraqi bastard's asses!

  • you can see the rounds!!!I had no clue that was possible even with night vision.

  • haahaaa haha. go kick those arabs

  • Bet it sucked to be on the receiving end of that. ^_^

  • merde

  • Steel Rain!

  • 105s?
