Don't mean to be rude but Sarah and Nona should have rhehearsed more or had back up singers helping them because it'ss all over the place in this clip
I will always be a fan of Patti labelle.I have been a fan since the first time I met her in new york city in 1966 as she sat at the table with nona cindy & Sarah at that small restauant one afternoon. When I think back she was as friendly then as she is now.
I'm not a Patti fan anymore, but, it's nice to see that she's healthy, is a GREAT spokesperson for dealing w/ diabetes, sounds great & has LaBelle w/ her. Having met Miss Hendrix(sp?), I can really say that these ladies are another class act.
1.I met other PLB fans, many of whom tended to post some of the most mean-spirited comments I'll ever read, full of spite & resentment. I realized that I don't want to be associated w/ people who constantly feel the need to tear others down to make themselves feel "better".
2.After listening to so many different types of artists from around the world w/ YT, I'm just not into the "soul screamers", like I used to be.
StephanAOTTO1 if you were EVER truly a PLB fan NO MATTER how someone acts or in general shouldn't have caused you to stop being her fan. That just means you aren't an individual with self meaning. Question. If you were African American for instance which you could be for all I know. And you met other African Americans you didn't get along with or didn't believe in their belief or disliked their actions. Would you go and change the color of your skin to fit in with another group?
It's that kind of judgemtal, etc., nonsense that made me want to remove myself from your presence. You got upset because of how I characterized the comments posted by some of her fans, then, post comments that are the living embodiment of what I meant. It's like the nasty streak is so deeply embedded in your phsyches, you're not even aware of it.
And, what's really weird is that your comments have a slight "rejected" tone, almost like some sort of spurned lover, as in a 'how DARE you reject me or my diva!!' kinda way.
When others act a certain way that's when YOU as an individual need to step up and show others EVERYONE isn't like that. A number of her fans actually have GREAT personalities and aren't so quick to be "mean-spirited". I LOVE PLB and no matter if other fans are rude etc. I'll be the advocate to prove them wrong. Or maybe you could have done the same thing.
As for liking other types of music thats cool. And I love ALL types of music also.
i feel bad that patti has lost a fan in your being.. but what makes me feel good is that you still look her up and wish her all the best.. everybody should just get along with everybody else, music trancends everything, and much like what all of our idols do, they are the channels, the objects to prove that music really does transcend everything, i believe that we as their fans have this unwritten obligation, to be the living proof that they can make music transcend, our idols are nice enough to
welcome other musical persons into the world of music, and i believe, that is enough, for us to just get along and enjoy the privelege of being able to hear them sing and see them perform

Wow, you have been following her a long time. Damn since 66. I have been a fan since around 81. She is very opposite in person vs the stage.

I was a HUGE PLB fan...until I joined YT.
Two things happened:
1.I met other PLB fans, many of whom tended to post some of the most mean-spirited comments I'll ever read, full of spite & resentment. I realized that I don't want to be associated w/ people who constantly feel the need to tear others down to make themselves feel "better".

fare enough. PLB fans represent them selves not PLB. PLB represents herself. but good for you, you found another taste in music!

Her and Chaka are the best. They should do a duet together

Patti's not hurtin' for fans and they don't reflect who she is. People have the right to be cowards.
