  • It isn't the Piccolo's theme, in Japan they added music to help the atmosphere and stop.

  • Do you mean someone the shitty american soundtrack before this?

Wow, I´m glad the world ends this year then.

  • @ScourgeofInfidels *prefers

  • 5:04 is the most epic song!!!

  • Who the hell are dislike that???

  • First i watched everything in english (I grew up with the ocean dub) . But when i got older i more and more appreciate the Japanese version. Also because the funi dub changed it to a kiddy show. I only prefer dragon ball in english. Z and gt in Japanese definitely.

  • I prefer the original Dragon Ball much more in Japanese and much more than Z and GT in general.

  • Bruce Faulconer is cool....but japanese soundtracks are the bests...masterpiece of dramatization sound

  • 4:30 the most majestic theme in Dragon Ball!!!!!

  • Japanese themes really bring back memories of real DBZ. As a kid I watched japanese with subtitles and if I compare the Faulconer's themes with japanese it's the japanese that kicks in. But it is also true that Faulconer's have a greater influence in key moments.

Wy not love both? Both have pros and cons but none is bad!

  • 1°Freeza vs Goku

    2°Piccolo vs Goku

    3°Broly vs Goku

    4°Vegeta vs Goku

    5°Gohan vs Androids 17 & 18

  • Piccolo vs Goku at DB Final is one of the best fights of all series

  • Piccolo is so badass that his soundtrack got its own theme.

  • Chuck Norris plays this song when he eats his breakfast.

  • DB Was First.!

    And The Music..

    Was First.!

  • @SuperNostalgic Japanese is the original silly :3. If you mean Bruce Faulconers track you're right though, he did compose brilliant tracks.

  • @xPokemonPlayerx Oops. I was sleepy when I typed it. I know the original is Japanese. Thanks for not being mean about it :3

Forgot to type in "original American" music. Dagh.

  • @SuperNostalgic Its perfectly fine ^^.

  • Bruce's tracks were crap for Piccolo compared to his Japanese theme.

  • @SuperNostalgic Japanese are Originals....americans soundtracks is fuckin sux

  • @gutyzao I know :p

  • @gutyzao Terrible spelling and grammar, if the American soundtrack was the original, you wouldn't hate it, and it wouldn't be hated on. You;re pathetic.

  • @xPokemonPlayerx FUCK U i dont care u insect

  • @gutyzao You're just butthurt, you're only proving yourself to be an idiot.

  • If the American soundtrack was the original I probably wouldn't like Dragon Ball nearly as much as I do. Wouldn't have the atmosphere that the Japanese stuff does.

  • @edward18517 You probably grew up with Kikuchis score then.

  • if you mean the original Japanese tracks, then yes.

  • @edward18517 Okay.

  • Original is always the best.

  • best theme in the dbz series indeed

  • i have listened to both sets of music because I have the uncut boxsets. Each set of music has its pros and cons. When Vegeta hits Cell with Final Flash Falcouner really kicks but, but other times the japanese music really is better. Just my humble opinion.

  • @kameyu1000 for Goku's first SSJ3 transformation, Falconer did a great job too. But otherwise I completely agree with you.

  • Hey, anyone here watch the show avatar the last airbender. Did they steal the song at 2:01 for that show?

  • dang this is awful the funi heck even the ocean theme is better than this

  • Repetition is actually a key component to art in general. When I studied film in school, repetition was considered one of the 7 key components to film making. They might both be repetitive, but Japanese soundtrack is far superior. And luckily you can watch the English version with Japanese soundtrack. The newer English versions tossed out the funmination soundtrack because it was so poor in comparison to the original Japanese soundtracks. Now the only changes made are voice work.

  • @pmilleroly27 I'm not disagreeing with you in terms of artistic concepts.

But I think there is a prime difference in repetitive music and "music that revisits common themes." The Japanese soundtrack being the latter. It does have themes that are the same throughout the soundtrack but rhythms, arrangements and compositions are always slightly varied. It keeps it fresh while remaining familiar.

  • @galacticaphantome wait im confused, which version do you like? I like the Japanese soundtrack and from the sounds of things you do too?

  • Lets not forget gentlemen that an opinion is an opinion and never to be stated as a matter of fact.

  • @ViewtifulMichael It's a fact that Bruce Faulconer makes repetitive boring music with terrible arrangements. It's bad music.

  • @galacticaphantome Most successful mainstream music in and of itself is repetitive. It's a jingle that sticks in your head and its catchy simplicity is the reason why so many people continue to listen to it. To the standard audience, complex "arrangements" isn't amusing. Because they're an audience, not critics. That's why the Bruce Falcouner themes come up first and most. What's fact is you're a true ignoramus for stating your opinion as fact.

  • @ViewtifulMichael Today's successful mainstream music is successful because the standards of good music has fallen. EVEN then, at least today's mainstream music has a bridge to cut repetition. Bruce has none.

Next, I never said anything about complex arrangements being good. I simply stated that Bruce's arrangements are bad. For example, the god awful placement of electrical guitar solos, the random fucking clown piano. His ability to compose music is hideous.

Go learn what good music is.

  • @galacticaphantome You think the standards have fallen and you think Bruce's ability to compose is bad. Plenty of others disagree and you're not changing their minds. But even on account that the standards for music have "changed", as you believe for the worse, he clearly succeeded in appealing to them. I'm not a musician, I'm a listener. And frankly, the technical "behind closed doors" aspect of music bores me. You can slam me for that all you want since I assume you're quite the opposite.-

  • @galacticaphantome -I'm not saying I'm right. But what I'm saying is on such a subjective matter, I'm not wrong either.

  • @ViewtifulMichael There is such thing as bad fucking art. Bad music is bad music, bad films are bad films, bad paintings are bad paintings. There are standards in these things and by in large, standards have fallen very low.

Bruce Faulconer makes is a bad musician and he makes bad music. That's a fact. People liking his music doesn't make his music any less bad.

  • Does anyone know the name of the theme when he appeared to fight Freiza in the original DBZ.

    ( Not Faulconer's theme)

  • For me best part at : 0:55 :D

  • pikoro dai maku

    king piccolo

    pickora ruleZ

  • 1:57

Best battle of Dragon Ball: Son Goku vs Piccolo

    3:47 BARDOCK VS FRIEZA!!

  • epic

  • You shouldn't cry so much about replacing the theme, even though that Falcouner is repeating himself often Piccolo's theme is quite good. But yea they could Use both themes or remaster this one.

  • 4:30

POCCOLO IS HERE TO SAVE THE DAY!

  • Bruce Faulconer haters are retarded. Is it impossible to like BOTH the Japanese and American music?

  • @Dominus96

I agree, but Japanese music had been also criticized.

  • @Dominus96 I would like the falcouner music if he wasnt so repetitive with the ost, and you have to admit you eventualy get tired of something if you listen to it excessively

  • @Dominus96

No. But the thing is they replaced the original Japanese OST with Bruce Faulkoner's, which is insulting. Of course if they truly wanted to keep with it, they wouldn't have dubbed it at all - but that wouldn't work with the American audience. (Apparently the American audience has a problem with reading.) Bruce Faulkoner's *is* uninspired, though. He ridiculed Piccolo's theme. In the Japanese OST Cell's theme was menacing, like himself - in the American OST, rock music. Yawn.

  • Comment removed

  • @Dominus96 Unfortunately, there are very few people like you and I, who like BOTH the Japanese and American music, its a shame.

  • @xPokemonPlayerx u are a geek, nerd, troll, something like shit it

  • @gutyzao No, you are. Oh sorry, let me write like you: NO!!1!!111 U R

  • @Dominus96 Bruce Faulconer's music is okay but it didn't have the dramatic feel to it like the Japanese music have.

  • @SMAXZO thank you. someone else agrees

  • @SMAXZO u right

  • prefer the funi

  • I like both Bruce Faulconer's work and the Japanese soundtrack. They both have their good qualities, I personally do not see anything wrong with either.

  • been looking for this one!

  • Where's the song playing while Piccolo's going to Dio to fuse with him?

  • 4:30 - 7:29 <3333

  • 4:30 - The Best Theme in DBZ History, period. This is why they shouldn't change the music EVER.

  • @Kevinjamesprojects It suits the character better than anything Falcouner could come up with.

  • I know that it is a lot of it, but here you can listen cool playlists, from the Japanese version (used also e.g. in France and in Poland). American\Englishmen really you have of what to regret.

    h t t p ://satanpetitcoeur.wrzuta.pl/audio/9qtvd7qroFz/dragon_ball_-_soundtrack_23

  • A true fan of DBZ would enjoy all forms of DB and DBZ and all music except GT.

  • How can people say they are DBZ fans and preffer that CHEAP ASS faulconer? you bitches are not FANS, true fans will isten to the REAL deal, not some fail rock... dbz with rock... geesh.

  • @EtaYorius

Not to mention that Falconer mostly reused parts from one theme for another. Like when Shenlong is summoned, it's the same as the one with Goku going Supersaiyan, he just edited a part out and renamed it. At least Shunsuke did compose a theme for the characters, not just rehashed them.

  • this japanese shit sounds like fucking circus music compared to bruce falconer

  • @Kaladraz Go fuck yourself, this sounds intense. Faulconer fails, he used a low budget yamaha keyboard to try and take out fitting moments with little kid low budget techno music. The english dub completely destroyed DB's reputation and turned it into unfaithful bullshit. All the character themes in the japanese version are japanese bands that sound very retro, and this theme is badass for piccolo.

  • @PrinceofSaiyajins um the other piccolo theme owns this so bad lol

  • @Kaladraz Go continue to ride FUNimations cock then. It's your opinion not mine. Obviously this is piccolo's real theme and the most well known around the globe. Failconer had no clue what he was doing, he took a shit all over a legend.

  • @Kaladraz

then dont listen to it... i wanted to check out how japanese music sounded cuz some ppl said its better than falconer. obviously falconer is better, but what can i say, its human nature to be curious. i checked it out on youtube, and it is the shittiest thing i heard. and its also like 10 minutes of music thats replayed throughout the entire series.

  • I didnt realized that US DBZ had different music, good thing that mexican dubbers are cheap and used the original sound instead of playing some mariachi. LOL

  • I'm glad Germany used the Japanese soundtrack.

  • @ZidaneTribal93

so u can make fun of germans? thats just racist

  • 6:25 on is my favorite part

  • Anyone who says that Bruce Faulconer's soundtrack is better than the Japanese soundtrack truly has no appreciation for art.

Bruce Faulconer is a glorified commercial jingle monkey who can only do 10 second catch tunes. His musical hackery shows through when he has to do something like a TV show like DBZ. His music is uninspired and repetitive.

The original DBZ soundtrack is fully orchestrated with hundreds of different sets, but still retaining many key tunes without become repetitive.

  • @galacticaphantome Dude......Are u a musician or a music composer? Man!!! Ur explanations are just awesome!!!

  • @galacticaphantome awesome comment. I love you

  • @galacticaphantome deal with it...most of us grew up with it

  • @OmegaZero718 Sure you did. It's pretty obvious since anyone under the age of 22 has terrible taste because of the declining quality of media.

  • @galacticaphantome Plus if you really examine a few of the tracks you can see that Faulconer was trying to imitate the J-Soundtrack, like with hell's bells. If you listen to Hell's Bells and the theme that plays when vegeta does final flash to cell in the original score you can see the similarities.

  • @Uberjetsu Well he did a terrible job of doing it as he took all the complexity and emotion out of the song by replacing it with a 10 second rhythm that repeats over the course of 5 minutes while adding a hokey out of place guitar solo over it.

Bruce Faulconer is a hack's hack.

  • @galacticaphantome yea I agree 100%

  • @galacticaphantome That's totally subjective. Bruce Faulconer is talented and his work is most likely better than whatever you can produce

  • @OhhWowFilms First off, the whole "he's better than you" argument is logical fallacy for someone who doesn't have an argument.

Next bad music is not subjective. His music is repetitive, cheap and commercial. Aside from a few catchy tunes that last for all but one second. There is no attempt at emotion, it's all cheap hooks and four on the floor beats.

If you like that kind of crap, that's subjective, but lets not pretend that his music is good by any technical merits.

  • @galacticaphantome "Next bad music is not subjective."

Ummm. Yes, musical taste is pretty much the definition of subjective. When one person likes one style but another person likes a different one. That's what subjective MEANS.

  • Comment removed

  • @galacticaphantome Wow, I sincerely hope you're trolling. If not, that shows an amazing ignorance of how art and the English language work.

    Good day, sir.

  • @Nnaron Clearly I have a better understand of both than you do. If you can't figure it out then the problem lies with you not me.

  • @galacticaphantome

Bitch please, the original repeats the same music every time and is horrible for the genre of the anime. Go fuck yourself. His music MAKES dbz.

  • @jjabroni56 the original soundtrack revisits a common musical themes, to incite the viewer of a character, an emotion, etc.

However it's never repetitive since the themes are always arranged differently, rhythms are composed differently, and generally accompanied with new music.

It's something that all great musicians do when making large bodies of music like a soundtrack.

Bruce Falconer has one dimensional themes, like "Vegeta's Theme" which is poorly composed in the first place.

  • @galacticaphantome Yes, but Falcouner's music sets the mood a lot better.

  • @thegamingwarhero No it forces a mood. Here's funny music, Here's sad music, Here's angry music.

Setting a mood requires subtlety which Faulconer doesn't have.

  • @galacticaphantome yeah, maybe so, but this is pretty much a matter of opinion. It is true that in Falcouner verse they just repeat the same music clips all over and over again, but most of his soundtracks are so epic that it just makes me wanna hear them again. I'm not saying the japanese is bad, but imo Falcouner's music makes DBZ a lot more epic. Although sometimes it does go a little over yes.

  • The true epicness begins at 4:31

  • i think the last song is acutally picoolos theme

anybody have a extended version of it? or know where i can find it?

  • @sxdxdb amen bro. Also if you watch GT in Japanese. The score is beautiful. It's inspiring and I ultimately believe there is so much hatred towards GT because funimation ruined GT

  • @RsKorosiya if the music is so "old shot and boring" then how come this video has 352 likes and only 11 dislikes? LOL what a dumbass

  • @RsKorosiya Your comments made zero sense , they are null and void. Also DB is a classical martial arts 80's retro series. Not a techno rock low budget synthesizer ear rape fest. Falconer clearly had no clue wtf he was doing. He changed an already legendary score by Shunsuke Kikuchi. No one wants to listen to constant metal music that destroys dragon balls reputation

  • @PrinceofSaiyajins456

No point in arguing with him bro. Everyone knows Shunsuke Kikuchi is one of the greatest and most award winning composers in all of anime and his OST for Dragonball and DBZ are the only ones that deserve to be in the show.

  • this sounds like music you would put on looney toones even the ripped kai music is better imo

  • @RSKorosiya No it doesn't it sound sick , your just a failconer fanboy who won't get off his cock.

  • @PrinceofSaiyajins456 Sure, it's more like you dumbasses don't know what true music is, try playing this in a school, everyone will laugh his ass off at you, then try playing for example Vegeta's theme from "failconer" and most of them will probably not mind it, why? Because "failconer's" music sounds more future-ish, this music sounds like music you would put on Star Trek the series back in 1960, you need to stay in terms of the technology, it's like having computers and not using them, dumbass

  • @PrinceofSaiyajins456 Why do you think those people in school will like Vegeta's theme better? Because it sounds like the music we have now, it's with a guitar, rock, not some old shit.

  • EVERYONE I CAN VOUCH TO SAY THAT @ 6:24 IS WHAT WE ALL KNOW BEST FROM THAT YOUNG EVIL PICCOLO WITH THE OLD SINISTER VOICE,,,IT WAS GREAT!!!!

  • I love the fact that the music has a piccolo in it

  • como se llama o en donde encuentro la musica completa del minuto 3:46? GRACAIS!

  • was fucking waiting for 5:04 the entire time

  • This even sounds like I'm watching it on VHS because of the sound quality. Awesome.

  • Comment removed

  • this was piccolos theme in dragon ball not z

  • I don't understand why americans removed this amazing soundtrack and replaced it by fucking bullshit which is playing every second of every episode! Japanese soundtrack is amazing. What's wrong with it? If they want to add their soundtrack to anime, let them make their own anime and then they can add their shitty soundtrack to it! I prefer japanese dragon ball z with sub!

  • @Shianetto This sounds like the music from a spaghetti western. If you find this amazing, then I'm sure you listen to nothing other than 1970' s western music right? Oh wait, you're an enormous weeaboo trying to sound cultured on japan while just showing your ignorance. LOL GO GO GLORIOUS NIPON I AM SO OTAKU

  • @barsafarce

Dude this is one of the most famous and legendary soundtracks in all of anime. The English dub had some good tunes too but this fits Dragonball the best. It has nothing to do with "weaboo this and that". Every country but the US used this soundtrack so this is what 80% of DBZ fans grew up with.

  • @Shianetto

really? u honestly think american version is shitty? wow. out of everyone i heard from, everybody and few japanese say funimation is better, but few japanese say the japanese version is better... does have anything to do with them just being too proud of being japanese and this being a japanese cartoon? seriously, some people are just too ignorant these days.

  • @Shianetto its just opinion. i personally love the american dub of it but its just my opinion. thats just how it is

  • @Shianetto Japanese music sucks.

  • @fuckturks2223

Why are you watching these videos then? Japan made DBZ.

  • @fuckturks2223 You suck.

  • @fuckturks2223 and you swallow

  • @MangelKorn And i jack of to it.

  • that is creepy as hell Mangel

  • @fuckturks2223 says the retarded dipshit who watch videos that he beforehand already knows he dislikes

  • @Shianetto

As much as i love the awesome japanese themes(and i prefer them, with a couple of exceptions), I dont see why people hate so much on Bruce Faulconer. I mean, he wasn't the best but he did make some decent scores. Also, it isnt just America you know. I've been watching the first 20 episodes or so english dub and i havent been annoyed with the music. And when i say this, people will say im a bruce fanboy when i clearly stated i prefer the japanese music.

  • sound like the old school batman theme

  • es mejor la version japonesa que las mamadas que quiere poner de musica la version americana que asco mil veces esta n.n

  • 9 people doesn`t have seen Dragon Ball

  • SEÑOR PICOROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

  • At 0:55 what theme is that? I really really want to know, because it sounds fantastic.

  • I hope this is just the dragon ball themes I hope japans music was better than this.

  • @DavidOAnal Get a reality check, dyslexic.

  • @FilMarck Your dyslexic? Sorry to hear that dude....

  • @DavidOAnal That's your best comeback? Failure, you are.

  • @FilMarck You wan't to argue over the internet? The life you have....

  • @DavidOAnal You're pathetic, troll.

The one who started this bullshit was you dumbfuck with your stupid original comment.

  • @FilMarck Was the comment directed towards you? Nope your the troll? Mad much? hahaha. I think you should stop being butt hurt at the fact that over in japan the music for the dbz soundtrack was complete and utter shit and the music in america was way better and made the moments way more awesome. I listen to this pethetic music and it makes me glad I don't live I didn't watch in japan. The only reason you responded to something that wasn't directed to you was because you know it's true....

  • @DavidOAnal The American music used on Dragon Ball was complete shit and FUNimation admitted to hate Faulconer's songs too.

Thankfully only the US Dragon Ball Z was fucked because the rest of the world kept with the true DBZ BGM which is brilliant and 1000x better than your shit.

    True? You wish.

  • @FilMarck It's pretty obvious that the u.s. soundtrack sounds better... What do you like about the Japanese themes? they sound like the music from the 80's lucky hear in america dbz came out way after that so the music was more up to date with the time. I't really depends what time period you where watching this. I still don't think this music fits all those epic moment's that dbz had.

  • @DavidOAnal FUNimation was too cheap to pay for the original music of Dragon Ball Z so you the American DBZ got fucked by Faulconer's music.

Bruce's music never stops for a second, doesn't allow silent moments and it's always techno/rock mediocre shit tracks.

Keep listening to your shitty US Dragon Ball Z.

  • @FilMarck Are you american or Japanese cause if your american your not making ANY since at all. But if your origin is of Japanese decent I can understand why you don't like it.

  • @DavidOAnal You stupid dumbfuck, I'm not American, I'd be embarrassed if I were.

The rest of the world got the true DBZ BGM for the dubs but America got the shitty Faulconer music.

I don't need to be Japanese to recognize the original DBZ BGM is superior to the shitty american bgm, anyone can, unless they're faulconer cocksuckers.

  • @FilMarck Lol looks like someone on there period. So tell me what about it is so Superior? and if american music is so inferior then why are you so angry about it? If it is you shouldn't be mad you shouldn't even care... obviously your angry at the fact that america is the only place that got something decent out of what japan had come up with. We dubbed it and remastered it and made it good. The worthless crap you call music over in japan wouldn't have made it here in america get over it.

  • @DavidOAnal What a shitty "remaster" FUNimation did, the colours were too bright, the cropped it wrongly, the orange bricks are plain shit and so is Faulconer's "music".

  • @FilMarck It made it look much neater i'm sorry to tell you this but your angry at american dbz and it shows. You look at the way dvz cartoons looked and the way they where remastered and it's obvious that its damn better dude. They didn't change the songs because they didn't wan't to pay well maybe. But i'm sure they would have kept them if they fit in with our culture. They changed it because they new we wouldn't like it.

  • @DavidOAnal Better? Get your eyes checked, god dammit.

The colours were wrong, the contrast was too bright, the cropping wasn't done correctly as Toei did with Dragon Ball Kai in Japan for airing in TV (also widescreen for DVD).

Keep defending your shitty US Dragon Ball, I don't care.

  • @FilMarck That's your opinion me and a lot of other people like nice looking anime. And what was so wrong with the cropping?

  • @DavidOAnal Really? Cause that's why they decided to use the original tracks from the Japanese version in the dub for Kai when they couldn't get the license to the Kai music, and the Faulconer was passed over because it was so bland and forgettable. The dub is atrocious. You should be the one who, in fact, gets over it. The Japanese voices may not be appealing to the ear all the time but at least they take their job seriously and don't make everyone sound like a huge goof.

  • @deathmasks OH and what a suprise NO ONE in america like kai. They all say it sucks ass. You can even tell from the comments on youtube that it sucks. They say kai is all about dumb voices stupid scenes and crapy music. The proof is on any dbz kai video even some of the up loaders say it sucks inthe description box. I honestly can't stand the shit. It's so un bearable to watch So get over the fact that the dbz that america had was way better then the original crap.

  • @DavidOAnal

It's the internet. The internet is filled with a bunch of whiny man-babies who will call something shit just because it is not exactly what they want or not the way they remember it. On top of that many Youtube users are pants-on-head retarded. Some of comments on a few Youtube videos hardly represents an entire fan base's opinion. Nobody in America likes Kai you say? Then why does it have such high ratings? The music, in my opinion, is just as good as the original music.

  • @Kozakie1 It doesn't have high ratings it's on saturday mornings.... It sucks. Also the music sounds as though it's from the 80's. It's less than mediocre in my opinion sorry MOST people don't like it.

  • @DavidOAnal dragonball z IS from the 80s lol The U.S got it like 15 yrs later lol

  • @Mataglio WOW you caught me at a good time lol. yep i researched that. explains the wiered music lol. Thanks. I commend the japanese for creating such a cool cartoon in the 80's back then my parent's where rocking with shows like bugs bunny lol. Looney toons and stuff like that. No wonder japanese anime is so famous but it seems like cartoon network doesn't wan't to show it anymore. I miss tonammie.
