Just delight in people's creativity and resourcefulness and minimalistic inclinations - to include the stones/mortar for planting beds, your idea to plant (specifically) an herb border in the cinder block open spaces, use of spent wheatgrass flats for a compost pile border, and the pipes that allow heat to escape the inner portion of compost heaps. I have a cuban oregano plant in a pot and its doing ok. i grew it from a cutting. a little small because it needs a bigger pot . have not used it in the kitchen though. the scent is really strong and it kinda loos like cactus plant to me.

I have not been to the one in New Mexico, but I have been to this one!  It is right on the beach in ARecibo, Puerto Rico.

That plant that he is calling Cilantro is actually called Recao, and it is actually .99. It is a weed like herb that grows in all sorts of conditions. I have several in my backyard. It is stronger and, in my opinion, much better than cilantro.

The Cuban oregano is a monster, it will take over your garden, leave it in pots!
