Actually Dragonair evolves at level 55 and when it does it trys to learn Wing attack so actually it's not so bad. I learned this actually not long ago when On my Sole Silver game when my dragonair evolved.

Well to be fair...

Wing Attack gets Physical STAB, which comes offs Dragonite's massive Base 134 Attack

It's also one of it's only Flying type attacks, and it's only 10 Base Power weaker than Fly (I believe) and max Base Power Hidden Power Flying, it's other options. So on Dragonite it still does respectable damage.

You now, Wing Attack isn't that bad. I had a Scizor in Soul Silver with Technician that had Wing Attack. With the boost from it's ability and STAB, it could destroy things without breaking a sweat.

No, there's not. The only Flying-type move available to Dragonite stronger in base power than Wing Attack is Fly. Fly takes two turns,so it is the equivalent of two 35 Base power attacks. Two Wing Attacks does more damage than that, in the same amount of turns.

Aerial Ace is better, because it never misses, but has the same base power.

So, no, there are not "plenty of better flying-type moves", at least when it comes to Dragonite.

All that typing, and you completely missed the point. I didn't say that there are better flying type moves for dragonite, or even there are better flying type moves in this game, just that, of the flying type moves Wing Attack is comparatively weak. As to Fly being the equivalent of 2 35 power moves, you should take into account that if you attack 2x with a 35 power move, the opponent gets a shot at you in between. So Fly's still better.

Dragon is very ou in multiplayer but for good reason because it doesn't count the difficulty in raising it. For single player it's one of the best types due to good power and little type weakness vs great type resistance and THAT is why lance pwns Gary after he loses to the main character after 3 years
