Hiiya! I just started this channel, its all about books (: Like book reviews, and many other things i created for my channel ! Check me out! Also great video (:
@LittleBookOwl Well the obvious one to start is Dracula, Mary Shelley, Edgar Allan Poe, Anne Radcliffe and so forth. Melmoth the Wanderer is another good one and then some short stories are good like Curse of the Vourdalak, Carmilla and basically all HP Lovecraft stuff that is Gothic but more modern with a bit of Sci Fi added. I need to find a community of people that read more gothic type books because my friends read other stuff.
thumbs up living dead girl was awesome. I am doing the opposite and reading girl who played with fire after watching the movie. Because i do not have the first book but found the second book for cheap. Want to read sold so bad.
A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khalid Hoeseini is a great book, hands down. It really does enlighten the western hemisphere about the trials of the east.
A recommendation would be to read The Kite Runner by the same author, they have a movie on it which was really good at capturing the events of the book. But the book was better :)
You said "In my pants" and it made me giggle. :3 I don't feel like such a creep for saying that now, thank you. xD I want to read The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, the movies were really good. And I've been meaning to read Sold, because I read Patricia McCormick's Cut a few years ago and it was really good, so I'd love to hear what you think!
I want to check out a steampunk! I heard of a couple but have no idea which to choose! The girl with the Dragon Tattoo is pretty good. The first 30 pages are so are kinda hard to get through but once you do and the story picks up it is really good. I also saw the new movie with Rooney Mara and enjoyed it!
A Thousand Splendid Suns is one of the best books I've ever read. In my opinion, it's much better than The Kite Runner (which everyone loves). Really.. You should look forward to reading it. It's beyond amazing.
Catch-22 is one of the only classics I actually like, but yeah, I completely agree with you, it's very slow and a very long read. Ultimately I think it's worth it though.
Yei steampunk! I /looooove/ steampunk. If you ever want to read any more steampunk I have so much I can recommend.
@LittleBookOwl Try Havemercy by Jaida Jones & Danielle Bennett if you haven't already. It's one of my favourite books of all time. Switches between four main characters, Royston, a magician who's been banished, Hal, a young boy, living desperate to escape dull country life, Thom, a quite university academic and Rook, a bad mouthed Dragon rider. Basically the story is of how they all come together and interact, brilliant book. Characters are just amazing. I'm about to start the 4th in the series

What do you think of Wither by Lauren DeStefano? The sequel was released this week... They're kind of "gothic", but... very unputdownable :D
