the song was being played IN the space station i think. not actually outside as sound doesnt travel in space, but inside it does. :) the music is just being fed through to the cameras audio from wherever it's being played!

Well as you can see Mcfly have a song called 'Star Girl' and a while ago someone came up with the idea to have the song played in space because lead vocalist/guitarist Tom Fletcher has a love for all things space-related (the song reflects that) like NASA and stuff. So loads of their fans messaged Nasa on Twitter to have Star Girl played in space. That's about it, hah.
