@javierf14 Both fighters were really good (& Cooper was highly underrated), but they were also flawed & disappointing. Cooper sometimes lacked heart & discipline (he was a drug abuser). Moorer, in addition to showing signs of mental instability, lacked a chin (@ least at the heavyweight level) & also discipline. They could have gone a lot farther had they applied & dedicated themselves. It's always disappointing to see those traits in skilled fighters.

The happy middle ground is a ref who knows what the fuck he's doing - a REAL ref - not some sorry little senior citizen who can be shaken off like a knat. Morrison got hit 10 fucking times, AFTER his eyes rolled back in his head. Ray Mercer is a fucking piece of shit, and I hope he got worse in his next loss. Ali had the class to step back and wave the ref in, when his man sagged

I guess you could say that adrenaline is to blame, and of course fighters are trained to finish their man when they've got him in trouble. It's hard to watch though; definitely bad refereeing in that one.
