  • hey, my name is melahrini :)

  • TÜRK IRKI SAĞOLSUN !

    Ege'den selamlar İZMİR

  • Before the exchange (the early 19th century) was the Greek quarter of Usak. This information passes through the Ottoman and foreign sources. Now this land is my family there as refugees from Thessaloniki and Crete (Küçük Çarşı district). I went to school the structure of an ancient church, Halit Ziya Elementary School. Unfortunately, very little written source on this history. You have done we did not make us. Thank you for labour romeikos2.

  • i love how the kurdish turkish and greek culture is so close. <3 They are all amazing cultures.

  • As a native Turkish man from Usak I liked the song very much.As it is said in the song old Usak girls were skilful and productive.I lived my childhood in Küçükçarşı.Our house was a Greek building. In 1978 by chance I met a 65years old lady in Selanik, she run a buffet on the street. She told me that she moved from Usak as a 13year old girl. Her father's name was Haşhaşyağcı Dimit. If she passed away I hope she rests in peace. She treated me like a fellow citizen & invited me to their quarter(mehelle)

  • everytime i hear greek n turkish songs i want to SCREAM at politicians we are so similar in so many ways WTF do we need to fight each other? when we could all be so happyworking together as a greek i Love turkish music turkish food n i feel more comfortable in the company of turks moire than Most ppl on this earth in this song i prefer the turkish version a littl more even i love both God bless all good ppl from both our countries n special thx to the wonderful musicians

  • @kontragerilla i appreciated for ur reply .but what i seen is similar but which language they sing ?is quiet nice

  • @brono9398 They sing in Turkish (with Greek Accent)

  • this is the only page where there is no political artuments..im pretty surprised!!! anyways..i like it.. thanks for posting

  • Romeikos, this is irrelevant but I'm sure you can answer my question. Can you please check the website of the upcoming Roza Eskenazi documentary and tell me the name of the unbelievably amazing song that plays in the background? i think it's about izmir/smyna but I'm not sure. here is the link to the site: mysweetcanaryDATcom

  • @Neferkal

the song, an "amanes", is "Chronia Polla Sou Efchome" and was one of many songs she recorded in Istanbul in circa 1953 during a tour organized by the owner of the New York based Balkan Record Co. She was accompanied by both Greek and Turkish musicians, among whom was the famous clarinetist heard here, Sukru Tunar. The song does not mention Izmir/smyrna

  • @romeikos2 Thank you very much!

  • @romeikos2

Thank you for the answer, much appreciated. If I'm not asking for too much, can you type the song title in Greek alphabet so I get better search results?

  • all most look like kurdish tradition women cloth every thing prove how close to people in the reign but how turkish destroyed every connection all nation in the area

  • @brono9398

u r here wrong. it doesn't look like kurdish women dress, cos kurds use mostly Salwar kameez. and this is absolutely difference. these dresses on the video are typical yoruk (= nomad) and western anatolian village women dress.

    peace

  • its really really great to see that we turks and greeks can help create a common friendly culture despite what the prejudicests say about our relations! We are both mediterrenean countries and we share the same blood since the history so we should be proud of such a hospitality and share of common culture rather than letting those jerks fight over it. I really love greek culture, food, music and people! Love from Turkey!

  • When i listen Turkish songs from Greek singers i remember old cult Turkish movies contains characters who are Greek ladies and talks cute with their own accent.

    Yallah!

  • There is no hate among logical people. There is only a BIG "defence" industry, which works only on people`s blood, and the sooner we wake up, the sooner we will enjoy peace and prosperity.

  • well, surely its down to us to teach our kids (turkish and greek) to stop the hate!

  • Best thing I heard is we are brothers born of different mothers

  • In the end the mixture of the cultures has produced sounds to echo in eternity. No music can stir the soul as beautifully as this. Its a pity we ve been raised to fear each other when we are so alike...

  • i have spoken to many ppln the sad truth is More Turks hate us than we hate them

i have predented not to be greek n Most greeks always said to me turks are also humans n its good n bad in them like all of us but quite few turks when i said am italian r u friends wirth the greeks now few said no few said yes n quite a few said i hate their guts when i asked why some said because they are greeks very sad really when the hell is this hate going to finish? WHY i really see No reason at all

  • @polygamous1

Nobody actually hates eachother all of this just simple fucking fear.

Today if you walk in Turkish streets you can heard greeks song, even i heard in Mcdonalds today.

Dont give to much credit to keyboard knights i mean internet retards.

  • polygamous, there are some people who hate greeks but there are many many people who don't hate greeks. Our culture is so same, we share lots of things...

I believe that peace is the best thing in the world. I love people who have got human love in their hearts.

    Love from İstanbul....

  • come off it mate he was a great leader for the turks

  • @greeco100 Μηπως εισαι μαλακας?

  • parte kai mia pipa..........

  • it s so normal greeks sing these songs better couse even at the ottoman's time they were the ones who perform these songs, and even theatre, drinking and such entartaining/corrupting things are mostly brougt, pioniered by non muslim citizens of ottoman's. i dont critcise its just a fact at all..

  • @mustanginer I don't pretend to start an argument, I am just trying to understand your comment. Are you saying that music and theatre are corrupting?

  • @Katatha75 currently these r not corrupting things even i love them so much (i dont mean i love them so thy r uncorrupting)) on the other hand if we consider that times' conditions alcohol, drugs and other corrupting factors came with the entartaintmens near by music and teathrical playings as well. music and teathre r not corrupting on itself but they acted as transporting factors, as it told i dont criticese anyone

  • I'm from Turkey but I must admit I prefer to listen to Turkish songs from Greek singers. They sing it from the heart. Long live the brotherhood of Greeks and Turks no matter what the loosers say from both countries.

  • i just LOVE to hear both our countries make songs together i LOVE them both

  • wright.....

  • @Eleshtirmen they sing tso original and naturel because they did not corrupt our music as we do it now...this songs are history

  • Admit it. they sings really better.

  • i am from Greece but prefer listen turkish music, because this is the music we should have both.the byzantine music system.

greek music after 50' turned to west music style and got fucked...

  • That's really cute!

The Greeks lived almost 500 years under Ottoman authority and under Turkish influence, that's why we share the same culture, the same music, the same way of living, even our kitchen is the same...and it's ok....the results are beautiful as we can see!

    A Turk from Izmir

    ℂ⋆

  • Absolutely right! The system is trying to cut the roots but we are resisting.

  • i m just commenting cos to become the 64th comment, and numer 64 is the Vehicle registration plate of Usak ;-)

  • You are an idiot if you think you are a better Greek when you use words of hate towards Turkey and their God. Oh yes I am American , I was born in Greece and my father was born in Antalya, Turkey.

Your "progonolatria" is empty in content or perhaps full of the wrong stuff.

  • You need help. See a doctor.

  • be quite hollywood-man

  • Hey! You're an ignorant loser. That's all I've got to say.

  • Kid you're an embarassment to all Greeks.Have you even grown your first pube yet? Why don't you fuck off to Turkey and meet up with their loser versions of yourself. You can compere who hates the other the most .Once you gather up the guts to actually hit one another I recommend using guns so you can remove yourselves from humanity's gene pool.Hopefully then I won't have to read the same pussy comments on Greek videos.Yamisou malakisnemi.

  • bravooo

  • Turkish original roughly translates to:

Ah girl from Uşak, girl from Uşak

    Girl with lips like cherries

Now you are being a bride

Girl with veil on her head

    Precious girl, precious girl,

Girl with ten arts (crafts) on her ten fingers

Now you are being a bride

Some lines are repeated several times.

  • I really can not hear any dialect.

This is perfect turkish. I love it. This means hove closed lived both sides together. My grandmom said many times to my mom before she died, she remembers the rum people on the turkish weddings in Kreta. They have been always invited to the Rum sides weddings.

  • If you wanna hear a good version of the greek one listen to Kaiti Garbi's interpretation of it on her LIVE Cd. It's worth listening to

  • i dont understand the story behind this song..what does the title mean?

  • hello, in Usak lived Rums in the Rum Quater ( today ÜNALAN mahallesi )until 1922,

    1914 Usak

    13.000 turkish muslims

    2500 greek orthodox

    900 armenian orthodox more...

  • about what is this book, and do u know where i can find it ?

  • hello ! i am also from usak but i have never seen a greek family or any greeks. the greeks lived mainly at the aegean coastline.

The grrek name or lets say the ancient name of Usak refers to Flaviopolis.

  • yeah, and Flavios was most propably a Roman Emperor, (Flaviopolis=city of Flavios)

  • The Greek version doesn't refer to a girl from Usak, just to a dark haired or dark skinned girl. a "living doll". etc. You might be interested to know that many Greeks from Usak settled in the small town of Nea Efkarpia outside of Thessaloniki/Selanik after 1922.

  • thnx for the information, do u know how many greeks have lived in usak. and i ve found out there is a greek music syle called Ousak, do u know anything about that?

thnx for your reply, take care

  • I am not sure of the number of Greeks who used to live in Usak but when I get home next month I can look it up in a book I have about the Greeks of Usak. Ousak is simply the Greek term/spelling for the musical makam Ussak, I am unaware of any specific style of music called Ousak in Greek

  • it would really interest me, the number of our ex-greek population. what is it for a book, if it s ok, can u give me all important informations about greeks and usak.

and thanx a lot for your reply.

    take care

  • I have not much time so my info wont be detailed.

The greeks say that in Pondus (north turkey) there used to live more that 300.000 Rums (greeks), but turkish authorities insist in much less. I am not sure. Is not an easy thing to find out,, because greeks are insisting on rum and pontiac genocieds, something that turkis are tatally unawear or disagree. So maybe the truth is somewhere in the middle, and needs a lot of search fro both sides...in case you find out please send me a message too.:D

  • thnx for your reply, but i did not get the point with Pondus and usak, ok in ondus there lived many greek people and laz peole (still living) and the number how u sad the middle is the right number :-) but Usak is in Aegean region of Turkey have u any ideas about the greeks from there. a guy under me commented in usak lived 2.500 greeks maybe that can be true.

  • I do not think that is easy to find greek names of cities and music styles, because after the Turkish indepoendences or earlier, I am not sure, most places were renamed using turkish names, but still if you look in Italian or greek maps there are still names in both languages (greek-turkis name of a city. Such us Izmis in Italian and greek is Smerne/ Smirni still. So, you need an encyclopedia mostly...

  • i agree... are u a greek from greece or were your family from anatolia, too

  • No, my family had nothing to do with this part of the world. I am greek from Ionian Island Of Ithaki. I am just curius about history and I search things sometimes in books or internet...

  • cool an islander :-)).. which history is your favourite one?

  • I like Roman and greeks times at first. Then I could say that WW II is also my favourite pariod for reeding and searching... But when I search i find allways bad sories and death, however I enjoy it... Is like all history is a blink of an eye, likea fluid that contains all the actions and creations of our kind... is very strange...

  • yeah i like ww 2 also, but ww1 is my more favourite ones... but it sounds sick to enjoy bad stories and death lol, but anyway i can understand u. yeah history always repeated but only sometimes the figures are different, but the ideology is still the same... what do u think about ww 3, will it come? i guess it will come

  • I thikn that wont be like the 2 previous ones, maybe has allready started... maybe it will be complited in parts for more stability, like a strategy game...:)

If not, will be absolute mess... becasue of the new technology...

  • Ela Romeikos... Euxaristo for posting this.

The song is from Cappadocia, isnt it?

  • sry... I know it... Its from Usak

  • Usakli kiz, means the girl from Usak (city), or is it another usak... because i m from the city Usak, ;-)), anyone knows the greek name of Usak and about what is the greek version of this song, is it also bout Usak... Peace for turkey and greece ;-))
