@krazychuck216 im from the youngstown area, if you get that ball rolling im there for sure im a die hard clutch fan. They are coming to Pittsburgh and Cleveland July 22 and 28, gona be my first time seeing them live
All Clutch lyrics are about the end of the world...which will soon be here because the planet is covered with so many people who don't like or don't listen to Clutch.
I do believe that Neil has a religious background. Case in point: Tight Like That. Furthermore, he has tremendous knowledge of biblical stories. However, he clearly is also a fan of science. It seems as though, based on his lyrics, he has moved more towards a fact-based approach.
Clutch is one of my most favorite bands to see live, and I hope I am able to see them many more times in the years to come. They just don't make em like this nowadays
First time i saw clutch I screamed myself horse calling out for them to play this song and they didnt. last weekend I saw them again and they lead off with this song and the place exploded it was so bad ass then they went out with spacegrass as the last song of the night. all in all the best show ever. This has been my favorate song for years and still is. I get pumped everytime I hear it.
isn't neil acting like a preacher in the burning beard video, yet he's preaching to robots, i think he may just be interested in religious material purely for the lyrical aspect, plus "never be moved" seems to be pro evolution "st. charles darwin wrote that gospel down." so i doubt he is a religious man, but at the same time you never know he could be
Well you dont get it dude. Its as anti-religious as can be. He's addressing the oppressive robotic funk that the mental parasite called christianity has unleashed on the innocent minds of the world
I feel he must have a religous background or at least an intrest in it. A commen theam for some groups is to catch the spiritual feeling you get from some religous songs and bring that to your music. Talking heads, live, and many other groups have even stated as much. Elvis wanted to play more gospel even. I read a quote some where from Neil and I may not get it exact but basicly he said he allways wanted to tell a story with his lyrics. This is like a witness to an event. I think that fits this
sounds like they go into "walking in the great shining path of monster trucks" next...did you record that because that's my favorite song from transnational speedway league
I've noticed that on that album especially there's a good deal of religiously based content in the lyrics. Anybody know is Neil is Christian by any chance ? It won't effect my appreciation of the music and I know it doesn't matter at all, I'm just curious.
I have thought the exact same thing myself. I even find evidence of it in Transnational Speedway and Pitchfork & Lost Needles. I would personally like to think fallon is deeply religious on some level and is trying to communicate some form of inspired message, but until he sets the record straight all we have is speculation...
I've found most Clutch albums are themed. On Robot Hive/ Exodus, most songs are about religion and scientology. Beale Street has alot of songs with polical stances(Mr. Shiny Cadilackness, Can't Stop Progress, etc.), Transnational Speedway spoke alot of urban living and culture.
except for "high time honey, oh yeah, whatcha know, i'm back again, yeah" or another favorite is "full ahead flank and out from the belly of a whale came a prophet amen!"
My fav band. Clutch fans might like some of our stuff...alt blues rock from northwest england

The greatest line in any song...ever.....
"So sit your ass down, I'll show you how they 'Used to'..."
If you top that, then your name is Neil Fallon...
