There are many wisdom behind fasting in ramadhan, one of it to teach people patience and it is also the month of worship, so you double your effort in worship.
@Narasamsha for the pilgrimage to makkah, it is obligatory ONLY for people who have the ability to do so, like money, accomodation, health. So if you dont have them, its not compulsory for you. But of course, muslims are dying to go there, so we would save up and make effort so we can go. See, the rulings are fair enough, God knows better of what humans can and cannot do. He doesnt give rulings that are impossible for us to implement.

Anything that we do in life has to come back to that purpose. @d11d77, Yes God is the almighty. It is understandable. But I find Islam to be a little rigid in the sense that it doesn't allow or permits God who is almighty, to assume a form. God is formless, but our understanding of him is incomplete and will remain so. Formless CAN take form at will. God's possibilities and will cannot be bound by revelation of a mere human, prophet or not. Just like water is formless, yet when poured into a vessel of shape, it assumes that shape. This is the truth.

His superiority is too high for the object of His creation to come close to physically in this world. We want to know everything n judge it as per our understanding. The whole creation is governed by 3 modes of nature bound by universal laws.

Elements involved r righteous knowledge, faith, divine love, goodness, benevolence for all, working up own lower tendencies, non-violence, control over senses, concentration, self analysis and so on as revealed by bonafide Gurus.
@Chhenu the principles are rather different in islam though. God is the ultimate divine and He sent a messenger among the human to teach humanity about Him, and the reality of this life. God's creations are not just human, it includes everything we see and things we dont see as you also mentioned before, life beyond physical world. Through His messenger He teaches people their purpose of life, the goods and bads, rules on how to live on this life, and what happens after we die.

@Narasamsha we know god through the teaching of the prophet, who are men chosen by God as His messenger, which He revealed His messages through an angel to the prophet. So we obey the prophet as he knows better of the religion, and we obey God to what he commands us to do. There are many wisdom behind fasting in ramadhan, one of it to teach people patience and it is also the month of worship, so you double your effort in worship.

@Narasamsha for the pilgrimage to makkah, it is obligatory ONLY for people who have the ability to do so, like money, accomodation, health. So if you dont have them, its not compulsory for you. But of course, muslims are dying to go there, so we would save up and make effort so we can go. See, the rulings are fair enough, God knows better of what humans can and cannot do. He doesnt give rulings that are impossible for us to implement.

Anything that we do in life has to come back to that purpose. It doesnt fit the image of God that He needs another divine beings to 'help' him in His rulings, or make any of His creation to come at the same level to Him. @d11d77, Yes God is the almighty. It is understandable. But I find Islam to be a little rigid in the sense that it doesn't allow or permits God who is almighty, to assume a form. God is formless, but our understanding of him is incomplete and will remain so. Formless CAN take form at will. God's possibilities and will cannot be bound by revelation of a mere human, prophet or not. Just like water is formless, yet when poured into a vessel of shape, it assumes that shape. This is the truth.

@Chhenu islam teaches that it doesnt befit a God's image to assume a form like His creation (humans nor animals). His superiority is too high for the object of His creation to come close to physically in this world. So the description of God are present like He is all-seeing, all-hearing, the most powerful etc. about His forms, we can never know but He said none resembles him. He is almighty, why would He become so low to take a form of any of His creation? that is what islam theology teaches.

@d11d77, Islam teaches that. Hinduism too. But Islam puts lots of limitations on God and man both. How is Islam to decide what "befits" God? Founder of Islam was Muhammad. How can he limit God almighty?! Yes I agree God has no image. BUT what prevents him from acquiring an image at will? If he is God, nothing can limit him. This is fundamental. And yet Koran has contradictions! There is no image, n yet he sits on a throne?! Why throne for formless with no legs, arms? Who sits on throne?! Think!

@d11d77, ok, I've read that incident with Moses. but that doesn't say Allah has no image or cannot have an image. That's simply the conclusion that man's limited intellect can concludes. If there is no form WHO SPEAKS? U wrote "Allah (GOD) "says"". Can the wind say? Can the water say? Try speaking to a drop of water n hear what it says in words?! To contemplate formless, one needs to be in very high states of consciousness-meditation. In mundane states, form can "speak" and communicate.

@Chhenu this shows that even a great mountain was rendered level when the Lord appeared to it. It's the superiority of God that He is almighty that we cant bear to even see Him. But of course, it's a different story after we die, we'll be in different world, different dimension. in quran: "Some faces that Day shall be radiant, Looking at their Lord (Allâh) [75:22-23:] and For those who have done good is the best (reward) and even more [10:26].that is the best of blessings one could ever get. :)

@d11d77, So God did "APPEAR" to the mountain. How can formless appear? What appears and is withheld by eyes, can only be form. That is fundament. If man cannot bear to see God, then his level is not high enough to see and withhold him. This is what I agree with. So if we dig deeper, we r basically talking around the same thing. U said, oh just talk to him. Ok But I'm talking of that level when u can hear n see directly. To reach that level help can be used. No restrictions. Go direct if u can

@d11d77, If you read the description of Lord Shiva, its similar. Do you know why his body is show blue? Not literally. Its all written in allegorical language. Blue represents color of ether which is everywhere. This represents that his body is the sky or ether, that is omnipresent. There in every atom of the universe. So God is formless, but is not restricted to acquire form at will for specific purpose. U can talk directly n ask. But help can also by used. Again - no restrictions.

God is gives through different paths, religions, sects, ways. Not monopoly of Islam or any one religion only. Human Ego tries to restrict God. @d11d77, when highly evolved humans r in constant touch with God, some qualities in some form do come to them too. This is what it is. U may not believe them to b divine. If superiorly evolved humans live through their human lives, they need food etc. as normal ppl do, to satisfy the law of nature. Nothing bad about that. Not weakness. Neverthless, highly evolved yogis have proved living purely on spiritual energy without need for food or water.

@d11d77, superiorly evolved humans - those who have transcended above the mundane physical laws or limitations. Certainly such people still exist, but away from the human society. They r not a direct part of our social lives that are now degraded. Some of them r having physical bodies n some without. Similarly there are spirits that have more power than ordinary people. The Jinats and spirits r also mentioned in Quran. Some muslim siddhas also interact n take their help. Not worship.

@d11d77, Even Islam acknowledges existence of higher beings who are committed to the goodness of the world and people. But man is given a free will by God. That's his gift of this life. So man can make the decisions n either go down and degrade or go upwards and evolve higher spiritually. The highly evolved spiritual beings who have powers over the material world don't come in direct contact with us ordinarily, as our level is too low. But if u ever see and experience them, all doubts will go.

@d11d77, by higher spiritual beings I meant the demi-Gods. But yes people can elevate higher to a spiritual plane definitely. This planet is one of ur places to work out ur karma, both good n bad. Also during this time u realize (if u do) establish ur loving relationship back with ur Governing Order of Divinity (GOD). God's creation is for a purpose. We want to know everything n judge it as per our understanding. The whole creation is governed by 3 modes of nature bound by universal laws.

On other hand if a person elevates to a wiser platform, then past life regression helps in understanding WHY u have particular sufferings in this life, how ur tendencies were built. Ur product of ur past n present. Just as ur present makes ur future.

Also a scientific fact that an action has an equal n opposite reaction. The reaction though at times go beyond our understanding of time n space, as our LIFE is not limited to life span of our physical body alone. @d11d77, as I discussed before, nothing stops a person from doing bad, if he himself doesn't realize that its bad. He has the choice. But he hasn't got the choice of the result. Its his duty to make wise choice in life. Universal laws of the divine apply n work, regardless of ur religion. If u put ur hand in fire, it will get burnt, doesn't matter, if u r muslim or hindu. u feel happiness, sorrow, pain, excitement etc. regardless of ur religion. U believe in God n goodness. Do good actions.

@d11d77, everything is governed by principles in life and this universe. When we go against the principles, we suffer. That is the key reason of suffering. When u know about the principles and understand spirituality well, u rise above worldly religions and the socio-political side of it n remain in the spiritual side of it. Then u can understand deeper meanings in Hinduism, Islam, Christianity, Buddhism n so on. Cuz u understand the fundamental. Not the superficialities that our egos cling to.

@d11d77, Actions do affect next life. Rules r definite, but we need to understand. n that's not on;y reason that should stop us from doing evil. U get back reaction either in next life or after death too without taking up another body. Some humans with evil karma, extreme passionate desires also become ghosts, n dwell in the spirit world constantly seeking fulfillment of desires n liberation from that state. Yes we also have that thing that after death u meet God/his representative who decides.

If God has no form and is omnipresent, it doesn't have to be a Big daddy with white beard sitting on a throne in front of whom u have to appear in a upper court of law. U quickly get results after leaving material body n go as per ur karma. God decides and sends or simply grants the fruit of ur actions in life. God decides but based on merit about sages too as they get attuned to God n keep their minds on him.

@d11d77, God does send from time to time highly learned, evolved people to teach about him. There is no "last" messenger. The world is not over or the people still need help. The help is send from time to time. People as per different times n place accept and follow n reap the benefits, or don't follow. There is no compulsion. But help is there. Followers make "religions", communities, groups, sects, cults etc.Jesus never made Christianity. Today there r hundreds of different christians.

@d11d77, If u read the Bhagvad Gita, Krishna teaches Arjuna how to worship him by keeping his mind fixed on God seated in his heart. Similarly at different times different God empowered seers, sages, 'messengers', avatars come n teach directly and through scriptures. Elements involved r righteous knowledge, faith, divine love, goodness, benevolence for all, working up own lower tendencies, non-violence, control over senses, concentration, self analysis and so on as revealed by bonafide Gurus.

@Chhenu the principles are rather different in islam though. God is the ultimate divine and He sent a messenger among the human to teach humanity about Him, and the reality of this life. God's creations are not just human, it includes everything we see and things we dont see as you also mentioned before, life beyond physical world. Through His messenger He teaches people their purpose of life, the goods and bads, rules on how to live on this life, and what happens after we die.

Like u well said ALL r his creation, his children. A mother doesn't do favors for one child n hates the other. She is fair n loving and caring for both. So that makes us brothers too. @Chhenu in this belief, human are sent to worship God. that every actions has to be within His rules of right and wrong, for every good and bad deeds are counted. After a person dies, his actions determine what he'll receive in the next life. the ones with high measure of good deeds would get paradise while the other gets hellfire. so one person is individual, he leads only one life, dies only once, and he'll be judged on his own doings.

Like Jesus said that he's not revealing everything, cuz they can't understand everything anyways. They cudn't even grasp what good he gave n crucified him!! Descriptions of heaven n hell r also there in hindu scriptures. Also in Christianity. But its not forever. There is room for reform n improvement too. Cuz God is merciful. @d11d77, Ur judged as u die n fruits of ur karma handed over, u move on. Ur judgement day is apparently - dooms day that happens after ever 4 yuga cycle. Then the creation starts all over. But whatever the inspiration or belief is, good part is that you decide to do good things and escape doing bad. And that's great! So we see the universal laws r pretty much the same and similar. One who follows the Christ Consciousness is a CHristian. Not black-white churches). Its a different story that people become more attached to Church culture instead of Christ.
