I just watched a show about this. They said that there is nothing you can compare it to that sounds the same. Besides a blue whale, but the blue whale is a higher tone and can only be heard from a few hundred miles a way. A animal big enough to make this sound would have to be the size a U.S. destroyer. That's insane. Just makes you wonder what the hell is at the bottom of the ocean?
