Why do the very best? The legends of the game- bar a distinct few (Schmecial, Beckham, Henry, Cantona)...never play epl (arguably the best league in the world) Zidane, Ronaldinho, Pele, Ronaldo, Maradonna, Messi...a bit strange. Zidane played in the worst serie A marking seasons, Ask anybody who knows. People who say Cruyff and Best all I can say is that you're misguided. @thekingoffutbol dribbling back then was pretty simple. run with the ball very fast. there is a big gap between pele and zidane, the game was very simple back in peles days. ideas were still being inovated. soccer in the 80's and today is consistant, same play, type of players, but comparing 50's skills with todays standards is incomparable. when pele played there was no such thing as bookings yellow or red cards. ref just sent you off if he felt like it.

In pele and maradonas time you could kick the hell out these players and stop them from playing and get away with a yellow card, where as now a slight touch will earn you a yellow. But at the same fottball is more tactical and defensive than before which make it easier to stop someone from playing. I Think the best players of my generation are Zidane and Ronaldo.
