  • is that engine powered? and also whats that beeping sorry kinda a newby

  • @slicker41 No engine. An airplane pulls the glider up a few thousand feet at the beginning and then it is all riding the wind and finding lift like the birds do. The beeping tells you if you are going up or down without having to look at an instrument.

  • Wow! Thanks for sharing this! It was spectacular to say the least!!

  • P.S. There is a Mount Nebo here in Australia and I thought at first thats what the video would be.....

  • Hey Bruno, great videos....thanks for sharing. Watching here all the way from Australia. Regards Pete

  • Bruno somehow puts himself into situations so he flies only in lift, I assume to offset the fact that I am continuously in sink. I guess that keeps the world in balance. :-)

  • Please change the following in your videos: NOTHING! They are AWESOME!

  • Great vid!..... thanks for no crappy music..... no "hey look at me and what I got" attitude..... and no crappy music! (didn't I just say that!)

  • sometime you should also have a chase glider/plane. It would be great to see how you're positioned relative to the ground (i.e. how close you get)

  • Another great flight, wasting a lot of time enjoying these.

Quick questions for a never flier (dabbled with soaring models)

Is the wind coming right to left or left to right?

That flat light over snow must be very concerning, even at ground level it makes things hard, but from above it must make it very tricky indeed.

    Thanks again

  • ...Your beautiful videos does soaring as a sport a great service!

I last soared in 1993 and watching your videos brings back a flood of good memories. No such thing as HD video back then!!! Your capturing your adventures in HD makes it all so real for many of us grounded... Keep it up and soar safe!

    8-)

  • @c762x39 Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. They are fun to make and share with everyone. Bruno

  • Killer video!!! Thanks!!!

  • @SeanFidler It was fun to make and share. Thanks for watching. Bruno

  • Are you iinstrument rated?

  • @allisonmodels Nope. I have my power license but don't fly power quite enough to justify getting an instrument rating yet. Will start the training once I can get back to flying power planes over 75 hours a year. In 2011 I ended up flying gliders around 160 hours for the year so that didn't leave too much time for the Cessna. :) Take care, Bruno

  • I wish we had mountains like this in Aus! Must go find myself some mountains like this. :)

  • I demand that you upload every flight you ever make. Once a week, full length so I can ride with you. :D

  • @aaron8862006 Wish I could fly enough to be able to make this demand a reality! :) Thanks for watching and I can't wait for 2012 with my new glider! I promise you will see even more amazing stuff. Take care, Bruno

  • @bviv - I'll take what I can get!

  • Soooo amazing! All of your video's!

    Greetings from ACvZ:)

  • Stunning videos - thank you.

  • hello, i was wondering if you have any tips for me. im getting my student soaring liscense in 7 months, (as i am turning 14) i have been saving up money for this for, well, my entire existence. i have 300+ hours of simulator time.

  • @TRAPBOULTERNAS Sounds like you are very ready to start your lessons. My best advice is to fly at least once a week during training and if possible 2-3 times per week. You will progress much faster and the training will end up costing less because you don't forget stuff in between lessons. Best of luck!!! Bruno

  • Wonderful ridge flying~

  • The beauty is breathtaking. Speaking of which, is that an oxygen system I hear working throughout the video?

  • @pdutube Sorry for the delay in responding. I use a Mountain High oxygen system. It is a tiny box that monitors your altitude and feeds the exact amount of oxygen you need. It conserves the oxygen and you know you are getting enough. We fly all the way up to 18,000 ft on many days and this system is pretty much mandatory. Take care, Bruno

  • Just a suggestion Bruno, but would you mind recording all the flights you do?

    I really love watching these!

  • @Randomtei LOL, thanks :) Well the good news is that you have another 50+ videos you can watch from me on youtube right now. Thanks for the support. I am headed off to compete in 2 glider contests over the next 45 days. Expect lots of new racing videos. Should be fun. Take care, Bruno

  • @bviv I'm just revising, with some of your cross country flying on the computer screen right now!!! I've even got your field landing video on my Ipod to show some of the other guys at the gliding club.

Good luck with the glider contests! I shall be looking forward to seeing those racing videos :)

  • Great job and video!

  • Seriuosly jealous !

  • I love flying with you Bruno! I can only fly vicariously via Flight Simulator X

  • Iccredible video! I am trying to figure out the readings on your cockpit in what appears to be an analog altimeter (bottom center) which varies from 700 to 2000 units. Would that be in meters? it seems you have climbed a lot more than 1500 ft!

  • Stop making me jealous :)

    Beautiful flight!

  • as always very interesting video. Will make my first mountain experience in france in August. Keep them coming !

I would so much like to fly in Utah one day.

  • Best, dreamiest flight you've posted yet, Bruno! Excellent lift!

  • Thank you for the great videos! Please keep making and uploading them

  • some large hand warms and keep goin lol very nice vid once again.

  • Excellent as always...Full Screen, Volume up...sit back and enjoy the ride...Thanks!

  • Amazing!!!

  • that would b sweet to have a heater in the glider

  • This is so fun to watch on!

Here i Sweden we only have flat land, no mountains to fly in. Hope to get the opportunity to do this one time ;)

    E-R/Sweden

  • Thanks for sharing ..it is beautiful and magnificent !!!!!

    Merci beaucoup !!

  • Thanks for sharing ..it is beautiful and magnificent !!!!!

    Merci beaucoup !!

  • can you show us the working of your new winglet-design in a new video, moving them around a bit and explaining the use?

  • @doudy009 This technology is in the process of getting patented and once everything is finalized we can talk more about just exactly what they do. Sorry I can't say more but thanks for your interest though.

  • i guess it was pretty cold there !?

  • @Bibberable Pretty crazy. Here we are in May and I had gloves on the keep warm. :)

  • @bviv i wondered what you had on your hand when you moved it to the flaps leveler : D
