Air! Takemitsu took special pains to avoid being Japanese but eventually came back to his

roots through his friendship with John Cage. The airy ocean scene & rolling waves are

hypnotic as well as mentally & spiritually refreshing. With the simplicity of a Haiku poem,

music, visuals & video are harmonious & integrated in meaning & expression. The

timbre of the flute is dreamy. Outstanding work, Satoko!
