What a lovely restoration job. Just one thing missing.. the sound of the traction motors and the noise of the air compressor. Maybe installing 3rd rail on the GC wouldn't be such a bad idea!
OH, I agree. The compressor issue should be resolved soon. The plan is that the '33 will provide a line voltage supply via the ETH supply from the loco, via ETH plugs (to be installed) on the Unit, to the HT Jaw of the AIS. From there to the 660VDC section of the auxiliary cabinet in the motor coach, the main auxiliary fuse, to the MG and compressors (there are 2 on the motor coach) and MG set on the buffet car (via the PTL).
Because the Equipment Issolating link has been removed from the MC, the motors are out of the circuit, so only auxiliaries will run.
BTW, the Motor Gen on the Motor (guards) coach provides the 70vDC supply for control, lighting and battery charging, while the Motor Gen on the buffet coach provides a 200vDC supply for the hotel services (cooking/refrigeration etc) on the buffet coach.
It is of interest yes because EMU preservation is pretty scarce and it's good to see one being used as best it can be without a 3rd rail. Just one other minor point, this is a series 2 unit which were never painted green, only the series 1 units for the Brighton line were delivered in green but I'm being picky there, she looks lovely in green and a very nice job has been done on her.
Great Video, 5 Stars! I went on this great railway the other day, and really enjoyed it! Videos from on board the train are always interesting, check out my drivers eye view video of The Bekonscot Model Railway.

Good comment - An electrified rail would be a good idea. That might thin out some of the hordes of lineside photographers.
At times there are more orange jackets on the line, than at a Holland football match!!! (only joking-I am a linesider myself.)
