Good tip for those trying to grow a thicker beard. I also thought when i was younger that my beard wouldnt "fill in". You can see when some guys let their beard grow in some places (like a goatee) that its thicker there. This is because they let it grow. So to all you guys feeling sad 'cause it doesnt grow like you want it to, give it time. And remember this: Hair sacks has a resting period every 6 weeks or so, and that is why you feel it doesnt grow anymore. Don't shave! Hang in there!

Most beards, probably about 80% or so have weak spots aka thin spots or bald spots. The other 20% though are very full and thick. But you'll find on that other 20%, that they're usually balding and have very hairy chests and backs. I would say that every beard has it's strengths and weaknesses.
A year without shaving is a huge commitment unless your beard is attached with velcro! There are times when I wish it was temporarily removable--visiting my family or going to parties with beard-haters! Best of luck to you.

I've been able to grow goatees since 25, but it wasn't until I turned 29 that I thought I might be able to pull off a full beard. I've noticed a lot of young guys in their late teens really anxious for their beards to come in.
All I can say is try give it time, eat right, go to the gym, and take care of yourself. By the time you turn 30 you should have a pretty good idea of what your beard will be like.
man your beard has come a hell of a long way. im 19 years old and i would love a full beard, i can definitely see it coming through more and more as the months go by i hope to be able to grow a fairly decent beard by the age of ... 21-23? i'm realistic about it.
