Que fea mujer, parece la mujer rata, o algun otro roedor gordo salido den algun desague....que feo aspecto...la canción es buena, quedaría mejor en otra voz como la de la Bella Celine Dion
Every time I see a live version of Chaka performing this song, it is always different because she is a true SOUL singer. Her versatility is amazing, and she caters to her audience. There will never be another Icon like her. Chaka-Fan-4-Life!
@rkb57 Aint no need to be sorry. Cissy sang background on the original Chaka Khan recording, so the connection was already there before Whitney covered it, with Chaka's blessing. Also Whitney's cover was IMO one of the finest dance tracks of the 90's.
There is only 1 Chaka Khan, she is unique and she still got it going on today vocally, whitney's version is cool but it cant compare to Chaka's original, whitney got a good voice but Chaka can out-sing whitney any day, no 1 sings like the CHAKA, love u Ms KHAN...
@EgYpTgIrL22 Actually on a video interview I can no longer find on YT Whitney claims Chaka as her major influence next her mother Cissy!!! Chaka is a contralto that sings in a soprano range thusly covering all ranges in between with a vocal agility rarely matched or surpassed!!! Think of a Rolls Royce Silver Shadow Or Mercedes Benz Maybach moving & cornering like a Lamborghini Gallardoor Ferrari 599 GTO !!! Heavy as hell but moving as if light as a feather & still grounded by plenty weight!!!
how many octaves does she.... i mean she goes from.....and she was singinging it full bore! patti labelle the only other lady next to chaka!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Your information is wrong about Whitney & Cissy Houston singing background on Chaka's solo debut. Whitney didn't sing background for Chaka until 1980 on her "Naughty" album.
Check the original album liner notes, not Wikipedia...LOL!
I have removed my post although I found several non-wiki references to Whitney singing background prior to 1980. Thanks for the info. Wish I had my original albums which were lost in a move!
in 1820 a man named fredrick osloft one day he was working in his lab until a ghost came by and killed him the next morning fredrick was nowhere to be seen 100 years later two boys went in the lab as a dare the boys where never seen again where aparently murdered now that u have read this comment tonight when u go to sleep the two boys and fredrick will come and murder you but you can stop this by posting this comment on 5 other videos by midnight
Wow, look at that UK audience they could drink Chaka's bathwater. Just seeing the love that they are giving to her makes you realize why everyone LOVES performing there. They make you feel it....
paddey, as chaka fans i have to say that we are spoiled...very spoiled due to the fact that we get to hear the bridge to this song sung live 9.9 times out of 10.
Man, I've been waiting to hear Chaka sing "I'm every woman" like this for the past 15 years or more. I absolutely loved it!!! Now I understand why I've waited so long, she's always singing it with somebody. And every woman can't sing "I'm every woman". Feel me?
I think the best performance of this song was on Divas Duets 2003 when she did all those incomprable notes, riffs and runs. It was amazing. Also I loved the one on her Chaka Khan Greatest Hits Live 2008 CD and DVD
all of em are distinctively great!! in this UK version, she hit every note, especially that grand note with crazy precision and agility!! just listen to those riffs towards the end!! AWESOME!!! and i also love the version with Ledisi, she sounded super sharp, precise and mad funky there!! ahhh i can't choose lol!! can i have em all lol
When CHAKA was a member of THE BABYSITTERS(69 or 70?), CURIIS clamed he had her signature on a piece of notebook paper and that made her be under-contract to his CURTOM rec label!
He calimed he didn't realize who she was until RUFUS hit it big with TELL ME SOMTHING GOOD! I'm 99.9 sure the case was tossed out of court!
I remember watching this in the UK in the mid-90's. It was quite a poignant moment as Chaka had appeared in 1985 on The Tube which was presented by a young Jools Holland. So it shows them both back together on a show! I also went to see her in Mama I want to sing. I WORSHIP ONLY AT THE ALTAR OF CHAKA KHAN!!
I have always respected the way Chaka rises to the occasion when she is put with crummy background singers. Only a true professional can push through. I will always love "I'm every woman" nowadays it's an anthem. And my girl is the originator!!!
You're videos of Chaka in the UK are just rare and awesome! I just love her performances there! It's no wonder ChakaKhanZone-Robbie would recommend them. And once this Authority in Chaka Music recommends something, it must be worth watching. And worth watching they were indeed!
the worst version ever.

We must remember ... this song was written FOR CHAKA KHAN by the greatest husband and wife songwriting team Ashford & Simpson. Sorry Whitney ...

All due respect to Whitney Ya'll need to quit comparing her version to Chakas!
There is no comparison-Thus far Chaka has the "Definitive Version"!
On The "I've Got It" Bridge Chaka's voice has bottom mammy while she soars over that bridge with notes to spare!
Whitney's voice beautiful & strong as it was,was too light in the ass !
Like the Late Great Arif Mardin said"This was an exercise in vocalising while danceable at the same time!
The demo from A&S sounded nothing like this!
