KN: Actually, I hadn't seen this before but, once you alerted me to it, I found it. That's me, OK, asking for "The Craigie Hill" at 0.40 and even asking for it acapella at 1.07. I've never been seen turned down with so much charm. I drove 500 miles roundtrip from DC to NYC to see Cara and she was worth every mile. every second. I am Tyrone, the next county west of Derry, where Cara is from. Her music speaks to my soul.
Charming indeed! Couldn't possibly be mad at her when she turned you down so nicely! It is a pity, though, that they had to cut certain songs due to them not having a full band...she did explain to me after the show why she and Sam were alone, but it wouldn't be nice of me to blab that info here for all to read.
What a beautiful performance of "The Parting Glass" and the sound is good! It looks like it was a wonderful evening at Joe's Pub with Cara and Sam - and a fantastic audience. I'm glad that you kept the interaction with the audience in there at the beginning. Thank you for posting this!!
I must apologise for rushing so fast to post a message on here, that I must have pressed the wrong star to rate your video, which is most definitely worthy of FIVE BIG STARS!
Thanks for uploading this video that captures the banter and atmosphere of Joe's Pub down Lafayette in New York. I am delighted that Cara made it to Joe's Pub safely and was in such good form, as I have been worrying for weeks that Kristin, a faithful "Broken Bridger" might be disappointed. This is one of Kristin's very favourite songs so she must have been on Cloud Nine last evening!
Wonderful hearing the old music sung so well. Some are simply born to tell the old stories and call up dreams and memories. Cara is one those.
