This may have already been posted previously, but this reminds me of an SNL skit a couple of months ago when Anne Hathaway was the host and the skit entailed an old fogey field reporter played by Bill Hader and the studio correspondent played by Jason Sudeikis and the two were having an argument on the air. If I were the person in charge I would have pulled both into my office then grilled the ever living fuck out of the Anchor for his blatant unprofessionalism before telling him to not let the door hit him on the way out, then I would have congratulated the Reporter for trying to defuse the situation and given him a raise.
The Anchor was just an ASS, if he wanted some questions answered then he should have answered the very simple question the reported asked of him "what would you like to know" If he cant give an answer to that then he needs to sit down and shut the fuck up. Both people were interviewed. Looked like the anchor was looking for a reason to ridicule the reporter since the reporter was once his boss. Yeah, the woman isn't a spokesperson like the man was, but that's not the reporter's problem. Anchor should've let it go.
The reporter was clearly phoning in the show and had NO desire whatsoever to do that job. He looked like he was just there to sit back and collect a paycheck until it was time to retire. Jim Ryan was awesome for taking him to the wood shed for it.
I think that the reporter was just trying to be a classy gentleman because she was wearing a bathrobe and he didnt want her to be on camera like that, a woman would want to keep her dignity and he would try to respect that, the anchor was a prick because he couldnt see why he didnt want to talk to her in her bathrobe on camera, he was being a nice guy and letting her leave quietly, strange thing is that nobody notices this or picks up on it, if anything he was a good reporter.

Agreed - the "reporter" is rubbish, the anchor was right to spank him on live tv. The "reporter" was not trying to convey news, which imho is the cardinal sin of any "news reporter", whether he's simply the local "town cryer" or broadcasting to the nation or the world. Indeed, nowdays, you never know who your audience is going to be...case in point...I ain't a yank....

Both people were interviewed. Looked like the anchor was looking for a reason to ridicule the reporter since the reporter was once his boss. Yeah, the woman isn't a spokesperson like the man was, but that's not the reporter's problem. Anchor should've let it go.

The reporter was clearly phoning in the show and had NO desire whatsoever to do that job. He looked like he was just there to sit back and collect a paycheck until it was time to retire. Jim Ryan was awesome for taking him to the wood shed for it.

I think that the reporter was just trying to be a classy gentleman because she was wearing a bathrobe and he didnt want her to be on camera like that, a woman would want to keep her dignity and he would try to respect that, the anchor was a prick because he couldnt see why he didnt want to talk to her in her bathrobe on camera, he was being a nice guy and letting her leave quietly, strange thing is that nobody notices this or picks up on it, if anything he was a good reporter.

It wasn't something he should have said on camera (the anchor), but it doesn't mean that the reporter (apparently new) didn't deserve to be told that. The reporter obviously didn't know how to conduct an interview.
That WAS hilarious though. I've never seen shots go back and forth like that before.

The anchor is exactly right and the onsite reporter didn't take his first and second hint. He deserved the slam because he hasn't the foggiest clue what he is doing.
Local news is a soap opera and if you don't get the emotional component of a controversy, the audience will tune you out and your ratings go South.
