Thought this video might at least mention the Israel Palestine issue. I bet most people don't know about the way Palestinians are treated in Israel, or the way that Israel unfairly regulates the Palestinian zones to prevent them from becoming self sufficient or independent.

But I would also argue that whether the regulation of Palestinian zones is "bad" is also entirely up for debate, considering how many lives it has saved. And I'm speaking from the point of view of someone whose sister has the job in the IDF of monitoring a Palestinian zone 24/7 (with other people, of course, they take shifts.)

@59Gretsch The Israeli gov't only registers marriages, they don't perform them. Marriages are under the jurisdiction of the different religious authorities(Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Druze). They don't have civil marriages so even atheists have to go through their Church, imam or rabbi to get married. The student in the red shirt who answered the last question about Israel being the only full functional democracy in the Middle East did so because of pro-Israel student advocacy on the UC Davis campus, where he went before he transferred to UCLA this year. If we can educate students from a random sample to be able to correctly answer questions like these, then our work is a success.

My friend's father was in the Israeli army. They had to get through a narrow road, and an Arab child was cemented to the road. The Arabs had put him there so that either the Israeli's wouldn't be able to get through or they would have to run the boy over. They spent hours cutting him out of the cement.
These are the people we're dealing with. People think if we're nice to the Arab leaders they'll be nice back to us. THIS WAR ISN'T OVER LAND. It's a war of ideaology and religion.

@59Gretsch The Israeli gov't only registers marriages, they don't perform them. Marriages are under the jurisdiction of the different religious authorities(Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Druze). They don't have civil marriages so even atheists have to go through their Church, imam or rabbi to get married. Civil marriages, inter-faith marriages and same sex marriages abroad are recognized by the state of Israel though.

Human rights don't come from the State; they come from people's struggles against the illegitimate control by the State. To paint it as "Israel gives its citizens better human rights than any other Asian country" is complete bullshit and a misreading of history. Israelis only have freedom of the press, LGBT rights, etc. because people fought for those rights not because the State "gave" those rights to them.

Interesting but this doesn't change or excuse the fact that Israel is basically little more than a nation of murderous thugs supported by the US who indiscriminately kill Palestinian civilians in retaliation for hamas rocket strikes. Which, ironically, makes them no better than Hamas.
Don't forget, dropping white phosphorous bombs onto schools filled with children is SOP over there.
If 100 Palestinian civilians die in a bomb strike that kills one member of hamas, its considered justified.

Israel has over 500,000 Arabs living in peace. Does Hamas or Palestine allows a single Jew to live in peace? Go to Palestine and see what Hamas do to them. You would probably lose consciousness.

@mrpennyo I hope you realize it's much more moral and responsible of you, as an Israeli or American, to be concerned with the crimes the US and Israel commit against the Palestinians than the crimes Palestinians commit against each other. The reason being, as an American or Israeli you can do much more to prevent the crimes committed by YOUR government and as well share in the responsibility for them.

When these children get killed during these attacks, the Palestinians and Hamas will cry to the world telling them look what Israel has done. I been searching for 20 years. Not a single Jewish wants me dead. They welcomed me to their homes with open arms. They invited me to visit Israel with open arms. There was never an attack where so many people died. You can just see by yourself what kind of measures Israel has been taking to protect un-involved palestinian population. Thank you so much for making this. It's about time people, especially "educated" college students, learn the truth. I am saddened by the lack of knowledge by so many of the students, but at the same time I am not shocked as I have experienced the same ignorance from my own classmates. If only people who actually knew nothing about Israel would watch this.

The student in the red shirt who answered the last question about Israel being the only full functional democracy in the Middle East did so because of pro-Israel student advocacy on the UC Davis campus, where he went before he transferred to UCLA this year. If we can educate students from a random sample to be able to correctly answer questions like these, then our work is a success.
