i am an adolescent but i'm not aggressive or hysterical so here's my opinion:
you visited xinjiang as a tourist, there are limited things you saw
you say that the newspapers, televisions etc. all seemed fine but you have to understand that china is a communist country; they limit what you can see
they also do force assimilation, uyghurs and the chinese cannot live in harmony because the government want the uyghurs to loose their cultural identity

Honestly saying, I don't like China's policy. Why is China protecting Uyghur terrorists in the name of sovereignty knowing the fact that Xinjiang Uyghurs export terrorists to Afghanistan, Central Asia & even Russia? If China can't kill terrorists, then China should give US the permission to clean Xinjiang up as Pakistan has given the permission to US for drone strikes. Without cleaning Xinjiang's Uyghur terrorists up, Afghanistan's WoT won't be over. China must cooperate with US.

Uyghurs use Islam as a cover to misguide people. But in reality Uyghurs themselves kill Muslims. Many Uyghurs from China's Kashgar went to Pakistan & settled down there. Now, they are killing the Pakistanis because Pakistanis are Punjabi Muslims. There are photos of some captured and dead terrorists in Pakistan & they don't look Baloch, they look Uyhurs. The original inhabitants of Xinjiang were Buddhists, not Muslims, as you can see many Buddhist relics and other archaeological evidences there. If uighurs claim that they are the natives, then what happened to the Buddhists?
