The person who did the voice over for Linda Blair in the English version of this movie was actually a woman with a very deep voice. She later appeared in an episode of Tales from the Dark Side. She played a witch who agreed to meet up with another witch who was also being executed in the sixteen hundreds in colonial America, several hundred years later. This is one of the worst (if not THE worst) movie I've ever seen.

They eliminated any mention to the mom being an actress, they combined the drunk english director and the friendly priest into one character, replaced all Christian references with Islamic, making Tugrul an author (and useless) and pretty much rendered the script retarded.

Did they think they were making a good movie? Was it considered scary? How much $ did it make?

I wish they did their own version of Exorcist II: The Heretic.

Not really a "scene for scene" copy as so many claim. Someone involved read the novel. There are several things in this version which are in the book but not the original film: The girl doing poorly at math, the old mother complaining about cockroaches, the book on satanism laying around the house, the conversation between the two exorcists on the stairs (in the 2003 reissue of the Exorcist, but not the original), the old guy mentioning he's met the demon before.
