  • I have two CDJ 1000 MK2s. One had a completely unresponsive jog wheel in vinyl mode and the other would scratch backwards when pitch bending in vinyl mode. After stretching the springs under the platter they both work perfectly!!! This fix is amazing and I would recommend to anyone who has this problem...and isn't afraid of opening up a ridiculously expensive piece of equipment haha.

  • i havent over tightened the screws but it was spinning fine before now its tight and rough.

  • @johnnysh37 It is possible that when reinstalling the jog wheel that it wasn't seated properly on the jog wheel mounting bracket. I had the same problem at first but after applying a mild amount of pressure while spinning the jog wheel it seated properly. Hope that helps. If not you could try opening the unit again and reseating the jog wheel.

  • Had mine apart several times to service. All you do is take your time switch of your mobile and concentrate. Brightly lit room helps too.

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!! I just fixed my CDJ 800 with the exact same problem by following your video!!!

I thought it was my software at first, but nope a problem with the platter

    You're a champ!

  • lol just a false video because its always different camer and their is lots of bug in your video a hand appear in the center of the picture lol guy ive got cdj 1000 mk2 and mk3 and i have no problem

  • too dangerous... remember: it costs 1000 euros...

  • i play in clubs with those cdj's and this has never been a problem

  • Awesome instructions! Just remember not to tighten the screws too tight for the screws that fasten the job wheel.

  • There is a lot of eletronic inside this baby :D

  • its buckeld when u put it back to gether

  • top video, my cdj2000's had this problem NEW out of the box, both of them. so i used this video as a guide and fixed it myself (bought my cdjs online so no warranty...) took me about 1/2 hour each just going nice and slow. stretched the spring about 33% bigger, probably couldve gone more :)

its videos like these that really help peoples back pockets, top shit!

  • @mshillab that is rubbish i work for one of the uk's biggest store we also do alot of trading online so i know under the sales of goods act, even when buying online there is a 12 month warrentee because the warrentee is by pioneer not the shop that sells it, yes you return it to the shop when it becomes faulty because they are the go between to the manafacturer, online store have to have a return policy too

  • I tried this on my CDJ 800MK2. Believe me, I'm not a technician at all. At first I was hesistating to do it myself or bring it to a shop. However, I did it, and it works really well! The procedure for the 800MK2 is almost similar, only the screw points might be on other places. However you'll figure out where they are quite easily.I skipped step 4 (unplug the ribbon) because I was afraid to damage it. So I took the jogwheel off with the ribbon still attached. That's no problem, just be careful.

  • damn why are u playing this clubby garbage?

  • rad:)

  • Remember to stretch all the springs EQUALLY, put them on the table and check that they have same height, if not you might have noticeable difference when putting pressure on the platter afterwards.

Apart from that i only recommend hardcore electronic freaks to do this as you can easily fuck everything up.

  • mk1 of mk2 of mk2:P

  • at 1:59 i gasped

  • just saved me buying a new CDJ :D Cheers Buddy

  • what do you mean by "push back on the clips to release the ribbon?"

i cant find these "clips," everything else was perfect though. a little help would be much appreciated, thanks

  • @BigLargeBad

Just remove the clip from its fitting. Just pull it back, but do it gently. ;)

  • @BigLargeBad Its a large ribbon looking band that is connecting the two sides together still. In order to completely separate them you have to disconnect the ribbon where the red box indicated. Then you can freely move the half without worry of damaging anything.

  • @BigLargeBad Sorry, I just realized this question was a year old! XD If you dont have it by now you've given up for sure!

  • Brilliant..

  • Does anybody know the part # of the three platter springs? This fix worked, but mine got a little too stretched, so the platter sits well above the jog wheel and must be pressed into the unit. Not a big deal, but I'd like to just purchase a few of those springs and see if that will work.

Unfortunately, these are the only springs that I cannot find in the MKII schematics, PERIOD. Please help!

  • @soundofair

Hey man, I have the schematics for mk2

  • @aleksandarkiki

in PDF or a hard copy? if its on your computer sending them to me would be much appreciated

  • @aleksandarkiki

Hey dude, if you have it in PDF I would like to have it too! =]

  • I really wouldn't take that expensive equipment apart!

  • @007luke666 If you know what you're doing, it shouldn't be a problem. =]

  • I LOVE U MAN!

  • Good video, but only r&b..

Haha, just do your thing, R&B isn't my cup of tea.

  • How tight did you screw the 3 screws in where the springs go after you were done stretching the springs? Was it kinda loose or all the way down? Thanks!

  • Definitely not loose, but not too tight either. Just how you normally would screw a screw. =P

  • you fucking champion! I fixed my CDJ 1000mk3 using your video! The only thing a little bit different was dissassembly, but exactly the right solution to the problem. CHEERS :D

  • Glad to hear, mate. ;)

  • @nittyc How the hell did you take apart a mk3? I just opened mine and holy shit is it different to a mk2!!!

    Please help

  • Sounds to me that some people are a little envious of your gear. Truth is, you get what you pay for. No matter what. Anyone who says otherwise is just trying to make them selves feel better, or validate why they either can't afford, or are too cheap to shell out for good gear.

  • that is the problem with today people,if is expencive then is good = they think...

  • I see your problem, it's because it's a MK2

  • oooo pios dont brake down nooo??? stupid overpriced piece of plastic...

  • They certainly are overpriced..

  • i know im electonic repairman and know this things.they probably laugh there ass out by pioneer whan they read all stupid comments "pio this pio that" it is the BRAND NAME disease who is in the world... i have denon and for the price im not sorry.. and can do everithing with it..it is only question if you want to play music oor give show?!

  • YOW I TRIED TO FIX MINE THE SAME WAY AND IT DIDNT WORK ..... the difference between mine n urs it that urs scratches normally mine doesnt scratch any at all

  • ouch.

is it in vinyl mode? :P

  • Damn, that's crap. Did you have the same problem in te beginning? Your pressure-sensors might me broken.

  • Very brave to open an expensive equipment such as yours... nice solution (y)

    5/5

  • I need to fix this with a cdj 800... anybody know how?

  • I think same will apply, but I'm not sure.

  • use hammer on it,it does the trick..

  • Looks good. Im having the same problem. But with the 400s haha so im pretty fucked ha

  • Why doesn't work with mines?

    :-(

  • now pitch bend doesnt work haha?

  • What do you mean with that?

  • They are cut or "coupures" in french

  • FAKE !

  • @MrSonogg Fake?

  • yes FAKE!

  • This isn't fake, it's real. I really fixed it, and my CDJ still works properly.

  • Ok, I had this issue with one of my mk2 and tryed the video solution. It worked man! It wasn't hard, but isn't easy. I found assembly all parts again, harder than open the cdj. EXTREME PRECAUTIONS IN STEP 4, it's not like a computer cable, you'll see the cable pins when you unplug that ribbon, and are very tinny and weak. The ribon will unplug itself when u remove the wheel upside, just show the way to it a bit. Be sure u plug the wheel back correctly in step 11, it's harder than it seems to be.

  • proper video

  • serves you right for playing rhianna

  • ROFL

  • Yeah, I think I would take it to the shop. Way too fragile for me to want to mess with. =D nevertheless great video.

  • Its not a common thing for this to happen. CDJ's can take a beating like a technics 1200. If its a common thing, you would see many post..

  • nice video, especially since official service is ridiculously expensive. but i ve only seen this problem on units used for more than 3-4 years, every night 365 days a year. didnt expect it to be common.

  • Is this problem really common?

  • contrats mate, you sorted the problem...not sure if I would go into them myself...thats some crazy shit in there!

  • thats some really high tec shit :P

  • take too the shop

  • Whach my vids i have the same and i opened my booth cdj 800 mk2 see my video

  • Thanks! I will try it when I have the time (and the screwdrivers.. :) )

  • Oke, aight. Are you Dutch? :p

  • MK3 had this problem too?
