IMO you actually have 3 different songs if you are talking The Cure, Jack Off Jill, and 311. The Cures Version sounds like creepy stalker guy outside your window. Jack off Jill is like you left me and im going to kill you because if i cant have you no one can. 311 is the romantic mushy one. I personally like all of them. 311 version is mine and my husbands "song". But i absolulty love JOJ and their cover

this band aint punk , they are from fort laurdale and giged with marilyn manson , he even came up with the name and played guitar on most tracks and produced most albums by them , so there not punk the just metal if you listen to their other albums youd see.
