  • how long of a leader? and what pound test for the leader and mainline?

  • @HATINTHEKAT the leader should be one foot longer than the clarity of the water. If you can see 3 ft. into the water, your leader should be 4 ft.

    I'm rarely going over 5 ft, except in extreme combat fishing.

  • Your lead should be clear, for sure.

    I use bright green mainline so I can see my line as it travel down river.

  • Does it matter if your line is clear or green?
