That is just the problem with Metal Gear Solid 4 there should be more action and shoot arounds and killing people and less less story. Metal Gear Solid was a FANTASTIC game and Metal Gear Solid 2, Snake Eater, and 4 were not as great as the first one for Playstation.

Hmm, I personally loved all the MGS series, all are equal to me, and all of them are really fun.

To tell the truth, I really enjoy the story, even though there may be much of it at certain times, but this is what makes metal gear solid so different and unique from all the other games, if you think about it MGS is probably the only game with such a powerful and dramatic story, I never played any other game that can keep up with it.

Hideo kojima is a legend and i have so much insperation from him as a designer myself so id like to follow mr kojima's footsteps one day. Thanks for the great games you have created if you are reading hideo and you have a brilliant mind that is full of good ideas, cool ideas that make every mgs a pleasure to play, The script you wrote in the first metal gear solid made me want to play it more and the codec is the coolest thing about mgs

You people have no idea about how amazing Hideo Kojima and intelligent he is, he is a fuckin genius.

Proven in MGS2/4.

Nobody will ever give him the credit for this though, people prefer going all "OMG OMG OMG" over MGS3 which has the weakest plot of the MGS franchise.

My girlfriend was watching me play MGS1 the otherday and i was at the psycho mantis fight and he was doing his memory card reading and his controller moving trick and she was like "omg how the hell he do that!?" and then the black out with the "HIDEO" icon popped up and she thought the TV was messed up. Then i paused the game when she wasnt looking and she was like "did he do that your you?"

@MatticusFinch1820 That is why he is so amazing to me. Halo is a great game, Final Fantasy and God of War, phenomenal. But, they tend to stay inside the box a bit in comparison to one idea Kojima had to use a Psychokinetic telepath who can read your mind and move your controller. That's why he's a legend. More Game designers need to think this way, I think games have become mindless killing more than strategy, critical thinking, and puzzle solving and it really saddens me. Kojima is our savior!

MGS on xbox is more a Konami decision then Kojima himself. Its about money.

I agree though MGS and FF just ARE playstation, i would never play MGS of FF on xbox cuz it just dont feel right.

Im glad Rising will be on PS3 though.

The story takes place during the Liberian Civil War in between the late 1980's and early 1990's. Raiden then was taken under Solidus (who also hones an eypatch), to do some dirty work...

...Thats if you guys acually bothered dreading through the long cut-scenes of MGS2. Wikipedia "Raiden (Metal Gear)".

I know MGS4 was well done in the sense that it made sense out of the clusterfuck of a storyline from the Metal Gear Universe, but please Kojima.
