  • Man I miss my days in the corps.

  • thumbs up for the two douche camera guys :P

  • @drum192192 i dont see why they are douches..

  • @luqmanhakimMLHBB well it just my own personal "ignorant" opinion apparently. They just walk out there while the USMC is putting on an epic performance..and well it just kinda ruins the whole effect yano? the usmc band practiced for hours and hours to make it perfect...to be in step, in line, etc...and when the "douche camera dudes walk out there like they own the place it just....pisses me off a tad. sorry

  • @drum192192 nah its okay man, now i understand. :D

  • Nice to see the band unstuff the shirts and come out with an actual show. Too bad they restricted themselves to half the floor available to them. Nice show overall though.

  • So, they have a few trumpet players that can scream a few high notes... but, as a Navy musician (Euphonium) and someone who has several friends in the different Marine bands, I would have preferred a performance that was a more in line with the Marine and military band tradition and less in line with Drum Corp. International... They do a good job of performing in a DCI style, but I would've liked to see something closer to the military bearing and discipline that the Marines represent.

  • Where are you stationed??

  • @Airman410 it was military, just desperado/ egyptian military

  • @Airman410 Marine Musicians do that stuff via military tradition: it's called what we do at every daggone Marine Corps change of command, retirement ceremony, etc. This is our break from it and allows us to display more showmanship, which greatly adds to the versatility of the band.

  • i was there.........

  • Man this band is so freakin sweet glad they were back this year

  • Well, if this band is playing marches all the time I sure don't see it at the Tattoos. Maybe for internal ceremonies, but most times I see US service bands its always an over the top sqeaky cornet or trumpet with some salza sound and then a recruiter logo of "The Few, the Proud" etc. etc. Guess I would like a more traditional medley of tunes with less over the top arrangements and concluding with "Marines Hymn" etc.

  • you actually have to join the military in order to see the boring side of the military bands

  • Yes, i dont align this with the US. A firemans funeral from NY maybe would be suitable? ;)

  • 1:15 is beast

  • Well Waterloo, it sure is different. For my part, that is one reason why I like the tattoos; and would not like them nearly as much if every band just played traditional tunes. Each band has its own character, which makes them hard to compare with each other. The men in jars did a pretty good job, I sure enjoyed it. But the Czechs produced a wonderful symphonic sound, and the Norwegians blended drill splendidly into their act.

  • Its great that videos are put up so quickly from this Tattoo. US service bands are not allowed to produce commercially made CD or DVDs so you can never so this Tattoo except on Youtube. Another one of our strange laws that we have. Qantico US Marine Band are obviously very good, but why do I feel like I am watching a College Half Time show instead of a performing military band? Can't these guys play a few standard marches instead of the over the top style. Many US Bands do this and its odd.

  • We do the standard marches all the time. This is our one opportunity out of the year to do something like this.

  • I thought this was the best performance I had ever seen on Saturday. I think this was Friday. But still a great performance.

  • This was from Thursday night's dress rehearsal.

  • yall aint that good! it all has been done before! i have 4 tours....thanks....lol. muah

  • I went there fri. and while the drill team was marching out one man got bayonetted in the hand. I loved the marine band if anything i want to be a marine avaiator like my dad was in nam.

  • What an amazing performance. Hell of a job guys!

  • Silly lighting guys messing it up!
