Just curious why they call this rare almost extinct dog a "tiger?" Yes, there are tiger like stripes on some of these dogs, but when they say tiger, I expect a large cat, not a medium sized dog.
This is just a theory I came up with minutes ago, and since theories are all that many of us have to go on, I see no harm in sharing it. Has anybody thought that when people look at what they call chupacabras, they might be looking at the South American cousin to the Thylacine? Just a thought, and in any case protect these creatures!
killings?!?!?! i knew about the sightings but killings? we already screwed up this creature once, so why the hell are they doing it again?????i can understand maybe 1 killing to prove its still here and so that we can help rebuild its population but more than just one or two is completely crazy!!! this has to be stopped
Yeah Tasmanians will never learn. I see they have wiped the Tasmanian Devil out as well due to the use of 1080 poison that kills everything including Eagles and the Tasmanian Devil. The Forests is nearly all gone because the Loggers rule the place and the politician are scared to stop them from clearing everything. Just Goggle Earth Tasmania and see for yourself. It looks like a patch work blanket and is 90 % logged. They are even ripping into the Old Growth Forests now. Shame on you Tasmania!
hi, friends, i am algerian, believe me when i remember that that beatiful animals does exist any more i feel down, and i stard tearing, i love that animal, so athat I want to travel to austarlia and specialy to tasmania to see where he lived!
please any who is sure that the thylacine still alive, plz, do tell tell me
if they are still alive i hope we never find out cause we seem to destroy anything we supposedly love, n putting them in a zoo wouldnt do any good id prefer they died in their natural habitat than exist in solitude
it is doubtful these are still living. you need a good genetic base for a population to survive long term.
while it is indeed possible they survived beyond 1936, it is doubtful they made it much longer. researchers have been looking for a long time, but nothing.
sightings from public account for little as most people don't know dick about taxonomy.
Nicely done, and I've been watching Balto4's videos for awhile. I'm sure he'd be proud to know his message is getting out. As far as a Tasmanian Tiger being found and hunted to extintion again. I doubt it. The outrage that this happend would stop it from happening again. They were put into protection 3 months before the last one died. If it was the last one. If one hair were touched, I hope they'd be shot on sight like the pouchers in Africa.
@Fairyxxxxxdude "will they just be extinct again?" Well if there are still around then they were never extinct in the first place! aaagh.
"If so, will they just be hunted again?" no, people will help them now. If discovered they will help rebuild the Thylacine population. But even if Thylacines are found out to be still around, it will be extremely hard to find them, let alone catch them.
So Hopefully! They probably would be hiding if they were, after all, if we hunted them to extinction once, who's to say we wouldnt do it again? Sad Really.
Yes, Tasmanian wolf is what they should be called.
Wolves are not cats.

aren't these the wolfves?
Andza195 2 years ago
I doubt they will because think of the numbers that dropped. they may go as a protected species. hunting a protected species is punishable by law.
